Great twig stove for hiking. I take this thing with me during the cold seasons so that I can keep warm when I reach my destination on hikes. (Help with no-trace adventures.) Simple, lightweight, sturdy, and cools off pretty quickly. I've considered a titanium twig stove, but it's more than enough for 98% of people. I've also used it to cook since it has crossbars and proper ventilation cuts at the top to hold a pot or pan. It's also a great price for the functionality and diverse usage.

The stove puts off a ton of heat and will easily hold a cast iron. It would be nice if it folded somehow. Instead, each side, the bottom, and the top are all separate pieces. It's a little difficult to put together and take apart. Not so much that you can't use it, but enough that you get soot all over the place. However it packs small, doesn't weigh much (especially when you take fuel into consideration) and you can have a HOT stove that never runs out of fuel.

I cannot express how much I love this product. Been using it for 6months, it's very durable. After seeing the expensive JetBoils & other alternatives, I wasn't satisfied with the options out there for camping stoves. The fact that this was a wood burning stove is what sold me. No need for propane tanks or little fire cubes (although they can be used with this stove). I just use whatever dry wood is around me- bark, sticks, twigs, mulch & some leaves or paper (I save my paper recycling for tinder) & I'm good to go. Set up is simple and the cross section that goes across the top of the stove is perfect. I have used metal cups, teapots, a pot, and a skillet on this stove and it all gets hot quick!!!! Great for heating up food in cans as well. I have used this stove on many windy days and the walls work flawlessly at containing the fire as well as keeping it from going out. On windy days I recommend keeping the stove at least 1ft away from any dry brush that could catch fire, as the fire can momentairly escape through the holes built into the stove. Digging a shallow hole in the ground to place the stove in can also help prevent any unwanted fires during windy days. Make sure you are not leaving any hot coals behind either!!! It takes only minutes for the stove itself to cool down enough to fold it back up again & keep trekking! My friends love it because I can make us all tea/coffee on our hikes.

I usually forest camp with a backpack. This genius device gets a hot fire going fast using minimal wood fuel. Too many good reasons to have this device. Drawback #1 - weighty if you're really counting ounces. Though, I estimate it's as much as a fuel canister so... maybe not. Certainly less bulky! Drawback #2 - soot on your pans. Gas burns clean- wood... not so much. Extra time washing or bring aluminum foil for bottom of your expensive backpacking pots/pans. Genius marshmallow oven. I take it to my friends' houses and it's always a hit with them and the kids. However- you better know what you're doing when it comes to making small fires. This will smoke and flame like mad if you're not somewhat skilled at building your tinder tee-pee and following up with dry dense blocks of wood. I will always bring a few pieces with me- but I have never had to use anything other than a few small dead branches from a tree or shrub in anyone's yard. Also bring gloves - it comes in handy and the stove gets hot. Safer to have gloves on hand. You don't have to be a woodsman, but if you're going to shoving dry grass and pine cones you're going to make a mess.

works like it should, I made coffee with it just today. I did cut my finger when I was putting it together but that was on me for trying to force it together and not paying attention. I like how it folds away flat so I can put it in my bag. Remember to keep it out of the rain and it will likely last forever!

False advertising in my opinion. Folding means it is one piece that collapses down and then expands back to full size without requiring disassembly and reassembly every time. This is NOT a folding stove. It can be disassembled to flat, but then will need to be reassembled to use again. And it is somewhat of a pain to assemble, and requires slight bending of the tabs to assemble - which will eventually then fail. So only 3 stars from me. Low cost and fairly sturdy, but NOT A FOLDING stove.
