Anybody who has purchased one of these and received a new one from the factory (with the Lixada logo) knows what I mean when I say... That blue stuff was dang hard to remove! I literally considered firing it up and burning it off - but I persevered and that's in the past now... Great little twig stove - good airflow, easy to feed. Small, sturdy, well made. Folds up flat with a heavy duty carry case. First burn produced no issues whatsoever. There have been numerous reviews on this product and many claim that the Solo Stove alcohol burner does not fit in the stove. This is not true with the Lixada Stove I received. It fits perfectly! There has also been claims that it doesn't assemble easily and that the locking pin is too easily lost. I found it a very common sense item that is very sturdy and affordable. if you secure the pin with stainless steel loop wire before you start cooking, you not only prevent the pin from being lost, you prevent the pin from coming out during cooking. My only "pet peeve" is the square cooking platform is too prone to spilling if the pot being used isn't larger enough to fit with enough space to accommodate smaller based pots! I fixed this by purchasing two stainless steel spikes that can be slid through the circular holes on either side of the top of the cooking platform. Not only do these spikes stabilize the cooking platform and fill the void that could allow smaller based pots from slipping into the heating element, but the steel spikes increase convection and decrease heating times. A simple design that is sturdy and efficient. I like it!

Only one use so far to check it out and it does what it's supposed to so far. It'll get some proper field use soon. I'll update my review if I lose a pin or anything like some other reviews have pointed out. I did poke and prod at them quite a bit to try to force one out and they seemed very secure. The price definitely seems more along the lines of what I'd expect from a few sheets of stamped metal. I couldn't justify the similar items at much higher costs. It's a hobo stove, it doesn't require a ton of engineering. It's smaller than I expected, but that is not a bad thing. It's almost oversized wallet sized once its folded up and in its pouch. Very convenient to carry and something I can throw in my pack with no thought to the space/weight it takes up.

This little guy is amazing! Folds up to a super lightweight and compact size. After almost a year of use it has warped a tiny bit from the heat, so it isn't quite flush anymore when files up, maybe added an 1/8 of an inch to the size. Works perfectly with my Trangia stove, setting it on the grate. Super sturdy and can handle a fair amount of weight with a 2.5 liter pot full of stew on top. Also works fantastically using sticks and small pieces of wood. Perfect for keeping two fairly toasty on chilly nights.

So, I received this yesterday. (Because I'll be damned if I'm going to pay $50-$100 for that brand Firebox.) It comes coated with a plastic film from manufacturing that was tedious to remove, but not difficult. I first tried it with the Trangia alcohol stove. Like others, my Trangia would not fit in the ring plate, the opening was just barely too small. But, after a negligible amount of time with a Dremel, I was able to grind away enough material that my Trangia now fits fine. I read other reviews about the hinge pins falling out so when I first assembled the stove I tried wiggling and shaking it to see if I could get the pins to fall out but they held fast and fine. However, after I tested it out with a little wood (boiled four cups of water in about 12 minutes) one of the pins did fall out when I went to fold it back up. I think this is from a slight bit of metal movement from the heat of the fire loosening the grip on the pins. The pins are crimp/flared at one end to hold them in place; multiple options to fix this in the design should the manufacturer decide to address it. Anyway, it was no trouble to slip the pin back into the hinge and I tightened down the hinge around the area where the pins are crimp/flared using some pliers. I will be surprised if they fall out again anytime soon with how tightly I crimped them into place. The pins are about the gauge of the wire used in clothes hangers, so if I were to lose one, I'm sure fashioning a new one would not be overly difficult. All-in-all, I'm happy with this purchase and would buy it again. Just be aware of these couple of design flaws that are easily remedied.

I got this yesterday and I gave it a test run for a camping trip next week. So, the pros: Lightweight, portable, and easily assembled. Not terrible on usage but I'll get to that. It makes a goodly sized fire for it's size if you're using the right fuel. Overall, I enjoy it and think it will provide sufficient heat to cook. Cons: I don't know whether or not this is worthy of a con versus something that's expected for what it is but you will have to feed it pretty often. Since it's not a full campfire, you can't shove a big log and let it burn down. However, since this is tiny, and only requires small sticks, there is never a short supply of those in the woods! If you're looking for something easy to use, small enough to fit in a pack, and don't mind staying on top of it, this is perfect for you! If you don't want to put the extra work in and rely on cumbersome propane tanks, then I'd say move along. Overall, I would certainly get this again even as a gift for a fellow backpacker
