This rug came folded up and included instructions on how to steam out wrinkles if you don’t want to wait for them to naturally come out over time. It took less than 24 hours for me to smooth out after placing it on the floor. There was no odor that I noticed when I removed it from the packaging. The bottom has gripping dots on the underside to prevent moving. The top is actually very soft and smooth. I would almost say too smooth. Just be careful that your feet don’t slide over the surface if you walk barefoot on it. The edges are well stitched so I don’t anticipate any fraying over time. My robo-vacuum has no issues going over the edge and didn’t get stuck on it. The design is beautiful and brings subtle color into your space. I’m really impressed with this rug for the price. It looks much more expensive than it actually is and reminds me of some of the designer-style rugs you see at high end stores. The colors and pattern look great in person and it made the room feel more finished. It’s also surprisingly soft, which I didn’t expect at this price point. Pleased but even more so now after a wash. I bought this rug 1 year ago mainly because it was the largest one that was pretty for the size. I liked the idea of it being washable since I have 6 cats and 3 sometimes 4 dogs. Over the summer I was home more because I teach and the dirt just no longer came up with the vacuum or spot cleaning. I honestly was goi g to just throw it away and buy another one thinking it had done its job well. It’s too big for my washer so I decided to take it to the laundry mat just to see if it was really washable. OMG!!! It is so clean. It is out in the sun drying and I can’t wait to get it back inside. When I took it to be washed you could see how dirty it was compared to portions covered by furniture. Now I can tell. More than worth the money. This rug is BEAUTIFUL!! We were looking for a rug to tie our black table into our beige furniture and this was perfect! The stock photos are pretty, but some of the review photos made the rug look really dark, so we almost didn’t purchase it. We saw one video that showed the rug and it looked light so we took a chance and I am so glad that we did! We’ve gotten so many compliments. The rug is so very soft! It comes folded, but we just laid it out for a couple of days and it worked itself out. It had no smell when it came out of the packaging. The quality seems great, we’ve used our Roomba on it and we’ve had no issues. We have our table and chairs on it so I can’t really speak on the slip resistance, but it stays in place for us. There was a small stain on it and it washed off very easily. I am extremely happy with this rug and would recommend it to anyone. ... show more
