  • BEST LADDER EVER OWNED BEST LADDER EVER OWNED
TBH, I was reluctant about the price and big claims from this product but I really needed a solution to my current project. I bought this ladder to specifically use for building my new woodworking shop. My new shop is designed with 10'8" ceilings so I needed a ladder that was tall enough to make it safe and easier for installing the rafters, ridge beams and supports. The first thing you notice with this ladder is the ease in which you can adjust the height and the quality of the stop mechanisms that prevent the ladder from collapsing. When climbing, the stability which makes you feel safe and more confident in performiing the actions you need to do to accomplish the task. The platform you stand on makes it so much more confortable and safe when working at the upper levels of the ladder. The multiposition air deck was able to hold my tools and heavy framing nailer without any issues in the horizontal configuration. When in the veritcle configuration, the air deck makes the perfect holding point to make for safter movement. I can honestly say without compare, this ladder is the best ladder I have ever owned! The picture is the current state of my workshop build after installing 24 rafters with my wife. We still have to install the joists for the rafters but that is going to also be a relatively easy task with this new ladder. ... show more

  • Fits in my SUV closed, and here's a tip on stowing the AirDeck for the 6'-10' model; excellent ladder
An incredibly functional, stable and versatile step ladder. I'm totally satisfied. I ordered this ladder on Friday and received it Saturday! Wow, how do they do that? The designers of these Little Giant Ladders must spend oodles of time on ladders as they know what we need, want and find useful. The collapsed Little Giant (73" long) fits into my 2015 Toyota Highlander, with the back seats folded down, which is something I could not do with a regular 10' step ladder. I got the 6'-10' model and agree with the positive reviews on this product, so no need to repeat them here. Two points, however: Remember, is an "A-Frame (aka step ladder)" so it doesn't extend straight up full-length. This is what I expected, so no surprise here. Next, the instructions on storing the AirDeck are not complete as they show how to store the AirDeck for the 6'-8' model which has brackets on the inner side of the back ladder. The 6'-10' model ships with a separate metal bracket that must be inserted into the two holes on the back of the plastic tray. This bracket then slips in to a step-wide slot on the inside of the back ladder. The AirDeck is in the closed position when it is stored of course. It took me a while to figure all this out, so hope this tip helps. It's a bit expensive, but the versatility, portability and safety are worth it. I recently recovered from a hip-fracture from a ladder fall and wanted the safest ladder design available before I ever went up a ladder again. Still, take your time, be safe, read the safety instructions carefully and never violate them. ... show more

  • Great Ladder System!
Bought this ladder to replace an old Werner articulating ladder which was a pain in the ass to use. This Little Giant Ladder System is just a very well designed, solid and stable ladder but its ease of use is what makes it for me. No more lifting and carrying to the location and then unfolding etc. My new ladder is just another 6 foot a-frame step ladder so setup is a breeze. It just happens to be able to extend up to 10 feet. If my dad were alive today he would be impressed. Compared to my previous ladder the locking mechanisms on the Little Giant are great. They're solid feeling, easy to use and pop out and lock in with a nice satisfying and confidence building clunk. Well designed. Speaking of confidence, I'm not the most comfortable guy on a ladder so the fixed standing platform and removable air deck accessory are nice touches. When on the top step (meaning the highest step you're supposed to be on) it's nice to be able to grab the air deck to help keep me stable. That vertigo feeling can be kind of creepy. I wish the air deck was a little more solid feeling but that would be my only gripe. The wheels on the base of the ladder are a nice touch too. As long as I have room to maneuver they add to the ease of use. It's hard to get excited about a ladder but all in all this is a great ladder! I'm glad I got it. No regrets here. ... show more

  • Pretty impressive ladder.
I bought this ladder because I have 8 foot ceilings in part of my house and 12 foot ceilings in other parts. This adjustable ladder puts both in reach. The ladder is a bit heavy, but it's well made, sturdy and stable. I feel secure when on the higher rungs. They added wheels to help with the weight. But, because of the wide base, I find it a little difficult using the wheels when going through standard residential doorways. It may not be as maneuverable as I'd like, but it's versatility, strength and stability make me glad I bought this ladder. ... show more

  • Great Ladder, solid even for heavier people and those scared of heights.
I have a large 24' fiberglass ladder and also a smaller 4' ladder and needed something in-between, height wise, in order to clean out my gutters and get up to my vaulted ceiling in order to clean and paint. I am also a heavier person and have a fear of heights so having something solid with wider steps is a big plus. We recently had a contractor re-tile our roof and noticed he used several Little Giant ladders over various sizes to get on my roof. I asked him what he thought of Little Giant and he swore they are the only ladder he now uses. Two of his LG ladders were 15 years old and heavily used. They did show wear and some dings from constant use but were solid. Taking his advice I started shopping and come across this one. This Little Giant ladder checked off all of my requirements. It is solid and very stable when standing on. The steps are nice and deep when at the lower height and I can stand on them for long periods of time. When fully extended the ladder is still very stable and the steps are 1/2 the depth but are still comfortable although after about 30-45 minutes my feet need a break. Still way better than the previous mid-height ladder I had. The steps were more like 1" rungs and very uncomfortable after just a few minutes. The utility handle/shelf is a nice addition. The handle attaches to the top of the ladder and provides a nice spot to grab on to when you are on the upper steps. I wish it was a little bit more solid. It is definitively not designed to hold a lot of weight and will wobble if you lean or pull on it. It could probably hold a gallon of paint but I would not feel comfortable placing it there due to the ledge not being overbuilt like the rest of the ladder. I received the newer version of this ladder where it is a little confusing as to how to attach it to the handle and work tray for storage. If you have ever gone to Little Giants website they will demonstrate that the work tray snaps into place between the two rungs near the bottom of the back legs of the ladder. The newer version comes with a hinge that swings out and you place it over one of the steps and it hangs/floats between the legs of the ladder. It works but I feel the earlier design was a bit better and more solid. I am always wondering if the work tray will fall off while I am moving the ladder into and out of storage but so far has not and has been fairly stable. The wheels on the bottom of the ladder I nice as the ladder is a bit on the heavy side. However you do need to have the ladder at a fairly shallow angle in order to take advantage of them. The wide base of the legs is what makes this ladder so stable and is great. The only downside is that they are wide enough that if you have a 30" wide interior doorway you will need to bring the ladder through the doorway turned on its side and will not be able to use the wheels. I had no problem rolling through my front door which is 36" wide. Overall I am very happy with the ladder. It is built like a tank and is something that my son's will be fighting over when I am long gone. Pros: - Very Stable - Deep Steps - Very Easy to adjust the height of the ladder - Built like a tank and will last a long time - Having the work tray/handle allows you to confidently use the upper rungs of the ladder Cons: - The work tray is not built to the tank quality standards as the rest of the ladder and is wobbly. (I had to knock a star off for this). - The wheels although of nice build are a little gimmicky as they are not very usable unless I am holding the ladder almost down to my thighs. Which puts more strain on my back versus just carrying the ladder. - The width of the legs may not allow you to roll the ladder through a standard interior doorway. - Heavier than other ladders of the same height ... show more

  • Little Giant ladder 15109-001
This is a great ladder. I have ten foot ceilings and my balance isn't as wonderful as it was years ago, so this ladder was a great solution for installing ceiling fans/changing bulbs. It is very stable, even when extended to max height, and the platform step works very well. The air deck that came with it is also very solid and useful, either to hold tools, screws, paint, etc. or, when inserted vertically, to hold onto for even more stability. I also used this ladder to put up photos above a stairway and the ability to set the legs at different heights made this task fairly easy. I haven't tried it outside as yet, but I believe it will work well for repairing or cleaning out gutters, if necessary, sometime in the future. The one thing to be aware of is it's weight. At around 37 pounds, it isn't as convenient to carry around, but that is a minor issue compared to its usefulness. Price may be an issue for some, but considering it is made well enough to last decades, I only hesitated a short time when purchasing it. ... show more

  • Excellent Ladder!! Someone really thought this one through!
Over the years I have used allot of ladders but by far this one stands proud!! Someone really throught this through, buidling a rugged-stable step-ladder that goes up high, can be articulated to be stable on uneven ground and is relatively light. My recomendation is to purchaes the larger 6'-10' ft model even if you will be using it at the lower heights. This is because that taller version at lower levels is much more rigid than the shorter model as you are getting the advantage of both the inner/outter frames at the base. The shorter version would need to be extended to be at the same length of the taller version collapsed not giving you this advantage. Remember these ladders are alumemum so no matter how well built they alumemum flexes, so the larger version gives you more opportunity to minimize the flex. Bottom line you get what you pay for, the larger version is more money but more stable. Overall a great tool. I have a hudge hedge on uneven ground and this thing did the trick! A suggestion if you will be storing this in your home, use the dimentions in the description to ensure you have the room for storage. The ladder flares out at the bottom for your stability when on it but does take up allot of room when stored. Overall "Wing Industries" did build a better mousetrap and hit this one out of the park! ... show more
