  • Worked great
The original out of the kit I purchased from Harbor Freight did not have a very good depth gauge. This one was far easier to see the depth of the tube.

  • Great quality
The pin bent on my cheap flaring tool. Bought this and couldn't be happier. Makes very high quality flares. Look very professional.

  • Lubricate with WD40.
I used it for the first time replaced a brake line and it worked great.

  • All Lisle products are of good quality.
All Lisle products are of good quality. They work and usually last. This little adapter replaces one in my kit that broke and it works well for a double flare. Some posts are too small or even to brittle and cause a tilted or off center flare. This one is better than most available. With that being said. For the most perfect flares that you will not be able to tell from factory, get the 3/16 on the car double flare tool from Eastwood. I just did a whole car and the tool looks unused. It made perfect flawless flares the first time and every time and did not mar the tubing like the kit you probably have that needs this lisle adapter. There was absolutely no " I guess that looks OK" going on. Every flare was "where has this tool been all my life?" No kidding. So purchase this adapter and keep that kit complete. But tuck the kit away for back up and try my recommendations. Brakes are very important. Brake work deserves the best we are capable of. And good tools help. ... show more

  • Perfect flares everytime!
This saved me big time from a jam. I had everything set up to fix my brake lines on my Jeep. 3/16 lines, had all the parts that I needed, except this little piece. I used it with my Rigid flaring tool and it couldn't have worked any better. Every flare was perfect, no special procedures. I didn't lube it with brake fluid, I didn't file down the ends. I just flared the tubing. I did 10 flares, no leaks. I think the negative reviews were from people who didn't know what they are doing. You can have all the tools in the world, but without skills, they are worthless. Just don't forget to put the fittings on first and you will do fine. If you find that the tube is a little out of square in the holder, use your flaring holder to straighten it out. I just put it in flush, and squeezed it, rotated, squeezed it again, and repeat. Works perfectly! ... show more

  • Don't bend the pin
I was using a Cal-Van flaring wrench and didn't pay attention to the location of the flaring die in the tool. Die got side ways and the pin bent when it was tightened down. This was a great replacement and worked just like the original.

  • Great replacement part
Exactly what we were looking for. Students are rough on these delicate parts and being able to replace them without purchasing an entire set makes it more economical.
