  • LOVE IT!!! My new go-to wood stove!
Size: Small
I LOVE this wood stove! It seems pricey compared to the other camping stoves made of stainless steel or titanium, but it is not. Some of the decent stainless steel stoves cost about $30-35, but they are too flimsy and annoying to put together, in my opinion. For an extra $20 or so, this stove is much, much sturdier, and starting a fire, even on breezy/windy days, is pretty easy. Plus, you get a fire poker, gloves and a carrying bag. Also, it’s pretty easy to set up. I live semi-off grid, so, I don’t use this stove just for camping. I use it for simple things like boiling water and small food preparations, when I don’t want to get my rocket stove out or start a bigger fire. So, I guess if you’re looking for something really light for camping, then this may not be the best option because it weighs about 7 lbs. But I would take it for camping despite the weight because it so easy and safe to use. My rocket stove was my go-to wood stove, but I found it to be a pain to control the temperature without having to constantly watch over it, feeding sticks little by little. Otherwise, I would end up with burnt food and very sooty cookware. This oven, on the other hand, has a much larger burn chamber than a rocket stove. So, I can add much larger pieces of wood than the sticks with the rocket stove. Also, the diameter of the opening is much larger than the rocket stove. So the fire and heat are not concentrated in a small area in the middle. The heat is more evenly distributed throughout the surface of the pan. A few things that need improvement are the door and the pot supports. The door is not hinged. So, it cannot be closed. The pot supports get stuck after the first use, but it can be easily fixed by oiling the hinges. That’s pretty much it. Other than these two things, I absolutely love it. Oh, as far as the material goes, I don’t know if it’s cast iron...but it’s definitely not stainless steel covered with some another material. Maybe it’s carbon steel? I don’t know, but it is pretty sturdy. It’s a great buy, and worth every penny! ... show more

  • Great little woodstove!
Size: Small
I love this little guy. I have the smaller one. Its still a good size for cooking, and as an outdoor heat source for porch sitting. I will be seasoning it this summer and have kept it in the living room over the winter set up.

  • Wonderful camp stove/ fireplace
Size: Small
This is a great little stick stove. It burned well, and is a great size for car camping or emergency cooking. It put off a lot of heat. I used sticks, leaves, and twigs from my yard to try it out. I have oak and maple trees. Truthfully in all honesty, I do not know if it is really cast iron. The sticker says it is and the box says stainless steel. It could be a thin iron, or it could be heat safe powder coating on steel. I do not know, but it works just great! It supported my cast iron pan, my Stanley cook pot, and my 10 cup coffee percolator. I will get a lot of use from this mighty twig/wood stove. ... show more

  • It Does the Thing
Size: Small
I bought it for power outages and camping. I have used it a couple of times, and it works as expected. The family and I just recently used it for s'mores. A couple of things to think about... It is a bit heavy, and it takes a bit to get together the first time. Once that 'a-ha' moment hits, it is easy to put up and tear down. ... show more

  • The most cost effective, safe and stable fire platform
Size: Small
I think I saw all the available camping/emergency stoves offered and I arrived at this one because: - Lowest center of gravity. Can make it lower and even more stable if you don't extend the legs. - Access to fire box through side and top with big hands to light kindling with a 2" match. Then I put 4 branches approx 2"dia. by just over a foot into side and top. They burned fast and left me with a bed of coals that lasted long enough to do 2 steaks, a can of potatoes and an onion. - Folds up small - Made of appropriate gage sheet metal, "not cast" - Paint burns off quick. ... show more

  • Great value
Size: Small
Its easy to put together, heavy duty and inexpensive. I bought it thinking I could use it indoors by adding hardware e.g stove stack, fan etc and its totally doable. I just haven't got there yet haha It's absolutely a "cute" and efficient outdoors camping stove, but I recommend using pellets rather than small chunks of wood. Due to its size, the wood burns rather quickly. ... show more

  • love this little stove
Size: Small
Make my morning coffee over the fire. Fun to look at, small enough to store as it comes apart. I don't cook over it, other than coffee, but it would be easy to do.
