Our bunk bed with a futon bottom was no longer needed as the grandchildren no longer all came to visit at one time....all grown up. So I wanted to get rid of the top bunk but didn't want to just pitch the rarely used twin mattress. Our three Labs have access to our enclosed back porch and as they are getting older, need a softer dog bed (they don't like to share either) . I knew I couldn't put the mattress out there and expect it to not get wet and muddy when it rained or snowed and even just a fitted sheet wouldn't protect it enough. I found this zippered encasement that was waterproof and would enclose the whole mattress. It fit the mattress perfectly, was easy to get on as it zipped down halfway on both sides, making the mattress easy to slip into it. I then purchased a couple of really cheap fitted sheets (I already had one) so that I could keep the covering washed and clean. The zippered encasement is also washable which is a plus. The dogs love it and have a race to see who gets dibs on it for the day. As big as it is, they don't want to share. The Linenspa covering allowed me to repurpose a mattress and not have to outlay a large sum of money for the extra large padded dog beds. Win win situation. Hopefully the covering will last a while but even it only holds up a year, I've still saved money. Lovely. ... show more

I'm so glad I tried this brand! Way better than what we had before! Our last zippered mattress cover was plasticy and anytime you moved on it it was very noisy! That and it trapped air so my fitted sheet looked like it was levitating on the bed. This zippered cover is soft and I don't even care if it's 100% waterproof, I got it to keep out dust mites, mold, etc. ... show more
