Bought two Linenspa pillows several years ago and they stopped making that style that I fell in love with. This is verryyy similar to my old ones. I love the firmness, yet softness of the foam. I don't like the kind of pillows with foam pieces because my head sinks into the pillow too much that my nose is mushed - so I can't breathe! This solid foam pillow does NOT do that! The holes in the foam provide a cooling capability so I don't sweat (my old Linenspa pillows did not have these holes - they were just 1 solid piece of foam but didn't make me sweat either). It does form with the weight of my head, but it's a comforting "form" imprint that keeps my head and spine in line while I sleep. Doesn't sink my head into the pillow too low to crick my neck like the pillows with foam PIECES and preventing me from breathing! lol Perfect pillow. Highly recommend! I've admittedly had my old cooling pillow for way too long because they don't make it anymore and I've dreaded getting rid of it. This one is a pretty decent replacement. It's nice and firm, but not excessively. I put a cooling pillow case on it and I'm loving it so far.

I followed the instructions on this pillow, "machine wash hot". Apparently, one cycle in one of my building's washing machines was enough to destroy this pillow. Since it was still in its case, a mess wasn't made. But it was still clearly apparent that the bamboo charcoal portion had nearly been torn in half. Upon opening the zipper to check on it, my fears were confirmed. If you ever plan to launder this pillow in a washing machine, don't. Maybe this wouldn't have happened if I'd hand-washed the pillow. But a pillow like this really should be machine-washable, and the instructions indicate that to be the case. So I couldn't possibly give this item more than one star. I mean, I didn't even get to use it once before it got destroyed. So seriously, do not buy this pillow. I've never felt compelled to leave a review on a product before, but I'll do it just this once. Learn from my mistake, buy a pillow that can handle one trip in a washing machine (this experience has made me doubt the structural integrity of this kind of pillow in general, but that's just me). EDIT: Okay, so apparently it is common knowledge that foam pillows like this can't be machine washed. And the tag on the pillow does say "cover care instructions". This being said, it is needlessly confusing to say "machine wash hot" on the tag attached to the pillow, when doing that destroys the pillow. Personally, I would never have bought it in the first place if I had realized that. I still think that the misleading tag is a big problem, so my rating of one star still stands. ... show more
