this bed was so easy to build, definitely a 2 person job. took us 1 hour! i would recommend a 5/6inch mattress for the top bunk, no bigger, otherwise you will basically roll off. strairs are kind of slim walking up, but my 6 year old can fit. i was looking for a bunk with strairs that the bottom bunk would have room for the underneath person to have head space. also, a bunk bed that wasn’t super tall, because we don’t have super tall ceilings, and didn’t need my child hitting their head on the fan when climbing up. our bottom mattress is 10inch and still plenty of room to sit straight up without hitting your head. it’s very sturdy! bottom mattress does lay directly on the ground, but that didn’t matter to me! ... show more

Awesome bed for my two 4 year olds seems pretty solid and fit perfect in there room only complaint is the instruction could have been a little more explanatory on some things kept having to go back and redo certain areas but overall not to bad would buy product again

Only giving this 3 stars because once we paid a handyman an additional $250 to assemble this bed, it’s very sturdy. Other than that we had a HORRENDOUS experience trying to put this bed together. After getting the majority of the bed assembled after 2 hrs, we found we had parts that were 1.5 inches off therefore one entire side did not match up correctly to the frame. We had to go to home depot to buy an additional drill bit, as we did not have the correct size, in order to drill holes to actually match where the screws went in. Lastly, the bottom pieces for the cubbies did not fit, they too are about 1.5 inches too long. We have yet to be able to assemble those because we do not have a saw to cut them to fit. It took my husband and the handyman almost 6.5 hrs to “complete” the set up enough for my children to sleep on it. As long as you get he right pieces it’s a good bed. Great quality and easy set up but takes FOREVER because it comes with one Alan Key. I recommend having a drill with attachments or an extra one so if someone can help. Took about two and a half hours because we just moved and the tools weren’t easily accessible.
