    • This hub is very useful!
I mainly bought this hub to help me expand the storage on my 2017 iPad with the operating system upgraded to iPadOS. I was able to put a micro SD card in the slot, plug in 2 USB thumb drives, and even used a 500GB external USB drive. Some observations to report: 1. The hub allowed me to use the micro usb and thumb drives without a power cable attached. 2. A power cable needs to be attached when using an external USB hard drive. 3. All the ports and card slots can be used at the same time. 4. The USB ports on the hub can handle other devices such as a wired mouse and keyboard. I used a Logitech mouse and a wired Apple keyboard. 5. The hub is plug and play. You do not need to install any software drivers. The cards and drives can be browsed with Finder app. 6. This hub works with iPhones and iPads that have Lightning Ports. It does not plug into USB-C ports. 7. Unlike other hubs on the market, this one does not overheat. 8. There is an HDMI port, but have not had a chance to use it yet. The manufacturer claims it can be plugged into a TV or monitor. I imagine it can also plug into a projector. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a hub for iPhone or older iPad. ... show more

    • iOS device can't use this to copy large SD card files to external drive
I get most people are going to be purchasing this to connect their iOS devices to individual peripherals. However, I was looking for a way to transfer files from an SD card to an external USB drive for video projects on the road. After connecting *power* to this device, plus the *SD card* and *external drive*, I was able to transfer files under 4GB. Unfortunately, something in the iOS system would cause the transfer to crash. I tried it with an iPhone and an iPad with the same result. I also tested a few different formats on the external drive to no avail. I suspect the iOS device has some sort of memory limitation after 4GB. If you want to transfer photos from an SD card to an external drive using your iOS device, this seems like a viable option - but you have to run power to this adapter first in order to power the external drive. ... show more

    • A must for ipads
My wireless printer isn’t communicating with my iPad. I a new printer since it still works good. With this hub, I can hardwire my iPad directly to my printer and print what I need. Plus with the hdmi on the hub, I can see what I see on my ipad but on a larger monitor.

    • Does not charge my phone
This product does not charge my phone. The USB A does not charge my device and the device does not show it as charging. This is perhaps expected. When connected to a lightning port with a USB-C the device shows as charging but does NOT charge. It even seems to actively drain the battery. I've tested multiple cables and phones. I've isolated the problem to this product. This product is unusable for me because of this. ... show more

Seems as if it’s not DHCP compliant. Trying to stream content through the HDMI-out causes the streaming programs to trigger piracy warnings and will not push content. The HMDI itself works fine but the moment you try to use Netflix, Peacock, Disney, etc. they stop working. Everything else works fine on it but I bought it to stream my iPad on my non-smart TV and it backfired on me. Just a heads up if that’s what you’re buying this for too. ... show more

Great add for the iPad. I use it for Zoom calls to allow a USB-A headset to be plugged in, screen mirroring with the TV, and reading cards. I’ve not seen the device have any functioning issues, though some apps will not allow the screen mirroring for media reasons (Disney+, Hulu, etc.), but that is the app. This piece is great and I love that it has the ability to charge while being used; many I looked at before this one did not have that featur. ... show more
