This would look really nice in a different setting- I'm sure. I knocked off a star for instructions. They come on a tiny piece of paper and provide little detail. If you don't know anything about the wiring in your house- let a licenced electrician do the install for you. Overall I think its a good solid build with an accurate color (warm white) LED light. It seems to be made of a section of extruded aluminum (ad says its die cast)- an elephant could probably stand on it and not damage it. It uses relatively thin gauge wire (red, blue and yellow/green stripe) compared to our house electrical lines (white, black and bare copper ground). The housing acts a a light shade- because it is solid aluminum, it blocks all light except where it is open to the LED "beads." I uploaded a few pics from different angles with the light on and off. My application was a hallway where no one would see it- I think it's poorly matched for my space. I might rotate it 90 degrees to scatter the light sideways. It really doesn't matter in my space. I could see these put to better use in a commercial setting: a few on the walls around an open concept floor plan or a few evenly spaced down a long hallway amongst modern decor as supplemental or accent lighting. ... show more

Even though it is described as metal I was expecting plastic for some reason. Is seems substantial and well made. The wiring is very small gauge and the colors are non standard for US wiring, I had to guess hot vs. neutral. FYI (nothing to do with the light itself) the way the light is cast it will expose even the smallest imperfection in the wall, nails slightly pushing out, not perfectly flat, etc. ... show more
