I bought this to replace the cheap light stands I had been using, and I love this one! It's just like a standard tripod, a little on the lighter side, but still much better than the super cheap light stands that come in most kits. I really like that the legs can lock in different angle positions, and they won't slip like the light stands I had been using in the past. I sometimes need a small footprint, and I can lock it in with this stand. I can also lock the legs to wider positions if I need more stability. Great option for a travel light stand. Wider base than the typical cheap stand. Has a bit more weight to it but it helps keep the stand on the ground.

    • Not stable enough for any serious work
I was looking for a travel light stand when I came across this I thought I would give it a try. I used this for a single speedlight and small modifier indoors, with the legs in the second position and honestly it was not stable enough to trust in any capacity. It sways under its own weight with nothing attached, when extended. While it can pack away to be a relatively small size I would not recommend this product as it is simply not stable enough to work as advertised. ... show more
