You can feel the heat spreading throughout the mat. Also be sure you are on the mat when it starts. Otherwise it'll heat itself up. Those penetrating infrared rays are meant for your body, not for the mat itself. It can also degrade the heating element and make it heat unevenly in the future. But if you're already inside when you start it, you get a sensation of warmth that just feels... different from a normal heating pad/blanket/wrap. Different and wonderful. You can feel when your circulation returns to areas it had forgotten about and it's so comforting I tend to fall asleep within a couple minutes. When ramping up circulation like this, I like to do it when I have something nice and nutritious in my bloodstream, ie - something that I actually *want* perfused through your tissues and joints, like liposomal multivitamins or trace minerals i took recently. Either that, or I do it with the silver wrap when I know I've got something I definitely *don't* want in my bloodstream anymore (provided I can sweat it out). Note: If you have EMF sensitivity, you may want to avoid this product or at least ground yourself while you're in it with an earthing pad. It emits a lot of EMFs after all. It can make my fingers tingle uncomfortably if I don't ground. I wanted to write a review because I read so many before I bought this. I had one of those portable infrared saunas and used it for years but after many moves it has given up on me, so I was looking to replace it. I saw this and thought I would give it a try, even though there are several reviews that it doesn't get hot. I would like to tell you I call b.s., this thing gets hot!!!!!!!!! I think someone must have received a broken one and should have just gotten it exchanged because this gets plenty hot. Now, I did not sweat but that is not because of the blanket. If you do some research, you will find that if you are aerobically fit you sweat pretty fast. I am not aerobically fit due to a couple of broken bones in the back leaving me unable to exercise for a long time, but I do know if I stick with this the sweat will come. I also saw some review where someone took niacin to try an increase sweating. Niacin does not increase sweat, that is not what the niacin flush is for. I just wanted other buyers to know the thing looks and feels expensive. Has some heft to it. My only complaint was how hard it was to get the zipper to work after you open it up all the way and then put the zipper back together is a bit finicky. ... show more

I don’t have enough space to write how impressed I am with the sauna blanket and with the company. Manual is professionally written and easy to understand. I’ve lived with chronic pain for over 30 years. I’ve only used the blanket 3 times but relieved pain/tightness immediately. I’m using a low temperature for only 30 minutes and will slowly increase. I’m hopeful with regular use the relief will increase as well. It’s worth it alone for the way it relaxes me. Anyone suffering from pain knows that it can be all consuming. It shuts off automatically but I stay while it cools down. I don’t want to get out!😊. Added plus is that it without the infrared it doubles as a weighted blanket. Customer support is also outstanding. You can make an appointment for a phone consult and they call back. Their products are sometimes slightly higher in price than other sellers but well worth it. I could have stopped after “lifetime warranty “ but there’s so much more. ... show more

This is a great value compared to comparable products that offer the same benefit. While it is described as portable, and it is, it’s rather bulky. So bulky that it would be an overhead carryon item on a flight. While it provided all of the benefits of a sauna, you will not burn nearly as many calories as estimated. It is easy to clean and store. It does not have a spot to remove just your hands. You have keep your whole arm out if you want to read or use your phone. ... show more
