I bought 2 of these 2 years ago for Christmas. Looking back they still work. Moderate use. Both boys could learn how to ride them quickly (ages 7 and 9 at the time) This year my youngest wants one too. So I believe I'll just order another one of these!

I bought this for my granddaughter’s 8th birthday and she rides it every day. She rides in the house or on the sidewalk and it handles and steers very well. I did quite a bit of research and this one had good reviews. Hoverboard is very sturdy and well built. I was concerned about battery life on these electronics, but this one has held up well. You'll find this hoverboard on amazon and elsewhere under different brand names, different colors, and maybe some different lighting. They all come in the same generic box, with the same generic manual. Overall the board works great, but battery life is pretty "meh" especially for adult/heavier riders. 70lb kids can get an hour or so of indoor use, adults over 150lb may find they get half of that. I'm generally skeptical of the specifications listed on both amazon and in the manual that comes with the book, I may do a teardown and look at the batteries eventually - to see what they're actually rated at and if they can be upgraded. - Amazon listing says this board is capable of up to riders up to 270lb, manual says 200lb is the maximum (and less than 150lb is ideal) - Amazon listing says the board can do 8mph, the manual says 6mph Regardless I like these boards, and the kids love them and adults do too - after a couple hours of practice I think most kids will have it down pat. The biggest downside is the battery life, it takes hours to charge and can either last 20 minutes or 1+ hours depending on how you ride, weight, etc. The wheels/"suspension" setup are not really good on all-terrain as they advertise, going over small bumps is doable with practice (like, from street to driveway of wood floor to rug) - the ability to go over bumps also depends on the weight of the rider. This thing is really only suitable on relatively flat surfaces, you probably won't want to ride on grass or sidewalks. ... show more

I bought one of these for my son’s birthday and his younger brother loved it so much I had to buy him one for his birthday a few months later. Both of the kids took to it easily and were daredevils by days end. The adults…not so much. It seems to run for about an hour and a half before needing to be charged which takes about 6 hours. My daughter only got to ride it a few times before it stopped charging and will not take charge. Very disappointed in this product. The reason for the late review. Just found in my order history.

    • Good kids hoverboard.
This product works well for kids. The only annoying feature is that the kids sometimes do something to make it safety lock and it will stay locked until the battery dies. It doesn’t happen often but has happened about 3 times in the month we’ve used it.

Only had the product a short time. The battery life doesn't last very long - only about 2-3 hours at most. Doesn't ride over grass or gravel. Seems to be a sturdy product though. Would be nice to have a portable charger to use while out! Product charges quickly after a few hours. Easy to transport and store when done. Its self balancing, so make sure to tighten your core or else you'll fall off! Fun to ride once you get the hang of it. Glides great on bare floors, concrete and carpet. Shows battery life on top of machine. Will signal by beeping when the battery is getting low. Has Bluetooth feature i have yet to try. My 6 year old grandson learned to ride it after a few attempts and he absolutely loves it!! He was sad that the battery died and that i could not recharge it right then and there (that disappointed me). Outside of that, so long as he's happy with the hover board, I'm happy. ... show more

Overall it seems to work fairly well. The motor, self-balancing system, and pressure sensors are pretty good, and our 8 year old who has never used one before was able to get the hang of it in just a few minutes. It also seems to hold a decent amount of charge. There were a few issues though. It doesn’t come with much in the way of instructions, and the instructions it has are very vague. You get a single sheet that tells you how to calibrate it, but it doesn’t explain how often this needs to be done. You also get a small separate booklet with limited operating and charging information, but it’s mostly a lot of common sense safety information. No mention of weight limits. It’s also supposed to have Bluetooth, but there no information included anywhere that tells you how to use it. In fact, it’s not even mentioned. We tried many times in several different ways to get it to link to another Bluetooth device, but we can’t figure it out. This leads us to believe that it either doesn’t have one at all, or it doesn’t work. ... show more
