No complaints so far. Installation was quick and easy. I used a paint marker, an awl, a regular cordless drill with a 1/4" masonry drill bit, a #6-10 DuoPower Anchor and appropriately sized metal washers to mount it to Brick. It probably took less than 15 minutes once it was unboxed and I gathered the tools. This winder seems very sturdy and the build appears to be solid. It is a little heavier and maybe a little more compact than I expected it to be but in a good way and it is attractive to boot. This thing winds my hose with minimal effort and it was an actual joy to do on my first go. So much so that I ran the hose out and did it a second time. I have observed zero leaks but I have yet to put any real pressure on the connectors. I'll test it out with my power washer soon enough. It was -16% off at the time of my purchase which made it a pretty fair deal. I did find it for less on another site but I did not want to wait weeks for the delivery. I needed a new garden hose reel for my back yard as the old plastic ground-based reel fell apart. After plenty of research, I purchased this one. What an excellent choice. Very well made, super sturdy, and works like a charm. And, it looks great! Love the shelf on top, on which I store extra hose nozzles, the occasional water bottle while moving the lawn, work gloves, etc. In my case, I mounted it to a poured concrete wall using a carbide-tipped drill bit, hammer drill, and tapcon screws. It was really tough getting this screwed all the way in but well-worth it. The only issue, which they do address in their instructions and on the website, is that the leader hose may spin and knot/kink, when it is not supposed to. I shot a bit of silicone spray inside the mechanism which they suggest and all is now good. Pulling the hose out is a breeze. And to my pleasant surprise, reeling it back up is equally easy. I did not want the model that has the worm screw that makes the hose coil a certain way. Instead, I use my hand to guide it when reeling it in. I also selected this one since it is unlikely to rust (cast aluminum?). Love this hose reel, the way it looks, and how easy it is to pull out the hose and reel it back in! beautiful and well crafted! rolls up easy, sturdy heavy duty metal not cheap plastic, easy to mount onto the house, fits the style of the house, has a good weight to it but not too heavy, love how it looks and so do the neighbors

This is the third hose reel I’ve purchased for my property. I like the overall design and function—it makes storing and winding up the hose quick and easy. However, on the previous two models, the silicone handle covering started to deteriorate over time, which made the grip less comfortable. Pros: Easy to wind and store the hose Elegant design Shelf to keep hose heads and brushes Overall function is smooth and reliable Cons: Silicone handle covering deteriorates 2 years or so Bottom Line: Even though the handle material has been an issue, I still like the product for its convenience. Do yourself a favor and stop wasting money on those cheap plastic hose reels that last a couple years before the plastic breaks and/or the water inlet tube snaps and water sprays everywhere. In the 10 years I've been in this house, I have gone through 4 of these wall-mounted plastic hose reels. The first one lasted about 7 years...when I went to replace it with the same one, it was no longer available. The closest I could find is what is pictured...and this one lasted less than two years. I finally decided I'm done with the cheapos and spent the extra money for a metal hose reel that is made right. I firmly believe this will last me a LONG time! It's chain driven, all metal, no plastic junk ANYWHERE, and it's solid. Not to mention, it looks really nice. I like it so much, I bought a second one to replace the plastic one at the back of my house. Pros: All metal construction Chain drive Auto-drive hose guide Great looks Cons: Cost more than the plastic ones, but will definitely outlast those, so in the end, it's a cheaper solution. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have had multiple hose reels throughout the years and almost all had some sort of flaw or was missing a "nice to have." This reel does it all. I don't typically leave reviews but honestly this seems to need some extra love because, although it comes with a higher price tag, its well worth it. First off this is VERY well made and sturdy. The only assembly needed is putting a single allen screw into the handle which takes all of 10 seconds. The reel comes with all necessary hardware to install on anything from Concrete to hardy plank. Which is where I installed mine. The shinning feature of this reel though is the hose directional feed mechanism that perfectly rolls your hose up evenly and is incredibly smooth to do so. My 2 year old even loves to help me roll up the hose when done watering the garden. For reference, I equipped my reel with a 100ft Continental heady duty rubber hose that used to be such a pain to get to lay right and is very heavy for a hose. This reel handles is so well. The other nice to have is the paint on the reel. Its some sort of powder coating (from the looks of it). I do not see any chipping or degrading in the future (Seriously). Overall the only negative I could even give this is that the handle if not tightened completely could be wobbly but that is more of a user error. ... show more
