I bought this on sale at 1000 through Amazon a month ago; one year prior it was at 1500 (retail 1800). Black Friday today in 2023 it's on sale again on Amazon at 900. Oh well. I have a 75" LG UHD TV in the basement entertainment area. Not OLED, but it has an eArc port, which is key to connectivity with this device. Setup was very easy, though I did heed warnings regarding WiFi disturbances and decided to move my Eero 6 Pro about 20 feet away from the sound-bar/Sub area (there have been reports of interference because the sound-bar needs to connect to Wi-Fi to connect to the Sub). I had no issues with connecting, and my network is not disturbed. Installing and using the APP for iPhone was simple, and the APP is not bad. Not perfect, but does what I need. I had an old Panasonic 7.1 2007 system for years that was outdated and on its last leg, so this was the upgrade for the basement, and I have noted several advantages: #1. Less cabling and connections; #2. Aesthetics. It just looks better; #3. Connectivity is a breeze now, especially using eArc, which the antiquated system did not support; #4. ONE remote. The LG TV magic remote controls the sound-bar effortlessly; #5 (and most important) The sound improvements. Everything is LOUDER, and Dolby Atmos does not disappoint. I am impressed with the soundstage, and music using BT connection is very clear and LOUD. I am hearing things in songs and movies I never would have heard using the old system. I'm sure that other systems like SONOS or Samsung have comparable impressions, but for me the choice was clear. I did a lot of research on this system before pulling the trigger. One thing I did notice for the first few days was that the system just didn't seem loud enough to impress, until I read and took others' suggestions to leave all inputs in CINEMA mode. WOW what a difference!. I can still adjust types of group speaker volumes (up-firing, side, rear, etc. but NOT individual speakers) using the APP on iPhone. Overall I would say this is a GREAT sound-bar, at least for my basement environment. If others are interested in this and own an LG TV, in my opinion this is an excellent investment; you won't be disappointed. Just use CINEMA mode, but be sure to play around a bit. Also, I recommend exploring RTings for honest reviews on all electronic purchases (not a plug, I ALWAYS research their findings before making electronics purchases). EDIT 11/29/23: So, my point #4 was not accurate. I do NOT have the flawless control of this sound-bar with ONE remote (magic). With my TV, and I suspect all LG TVs, the interface to use the magic (or any other universal) remote to control this sound-bar input is limited, and by this I mean Power and Volume ONLY (because of eArc). From all of my research, I have found that to control the sound-bar input using only the magic remote (like changing to Bluetooth) requires using the WOWcast device, unless you want to break out the sound-bar remote, or your phone. This is another remote (WHAT?). Using this device will allow you to control the sound-bar inputs, controls, etc. via your TV screen, and by extension, your magic remote. Well, I looked into this device, and it only broadcasts audio signals wirelessly. WHAT? No HDMI cabling pass-through possible. Nope. NO HDMI PASS-THROUGH! Costs 20 some bucks. But to have the interface on your screen to manipulate this very expensive sound-bar, you MUST have your audio connection wireless, for some reason. I choose to use direct HDMI cabling thank you very much. For this reason, I am knocking down a star. Really bad, and cheap, marketing gimmick for a very expensive, and great sounding system. Do better S. Korea. Still sounds great though. EDIT 2/29/24: Sound-bar is still living up to expectations. So far I'm very impressed. Increasing to 5 stars. This item is worth buying based on my observations. Still wish they would get this one remote thing figured out... EDIT 5/16/24: Still works great. Highly recommend.

I decided to buy this LG sound bar S95QR because I have a newer LG OLED B3 TV. I liked the idea that it would sync up with the TV without compatibility issues. The system WOW Orchestra feature is automatically enabled on first power up. I was disappointed at first. Tinny sound with not much bass (as many reviews say). I have been using it for a few weeks now. After learning about how to optimize the system for my room, I am now very happy with this LG sound bar. Source audio turned out to be very important when judging the overall sound quality. Most broadcast TV channels sound tinny as expected. I used YouTube Dolby Atmos 9.1.5 demos to adjust the EQ and rear speaker placement. Now movie and some broadcast TV sound is balanced and immersive. I suggest buying some stands for the rear speakers. Pros: Via eARC, its plug and play with new LG TVs. Plenty of power. Once system is adjusted, balanced highs and lows. (depending on the source audio). Wireless rear speakers allowed me to play around to find the optimum placement. Cons: Phone app EQ cannot adjust treble, midrange, and bass to "exaggerated levels". Bass set a maximum is mediocre but acceptable during movie action scenes. In summary, the surround immersion experience is exciting and enjoyable. So if you enjoy big blasting bass, this sound bar may not be for you. Considering I paid less than $1K for this sound bar system, I am happy with the purchase.

I was debating whether to purchase this or the Samsung 900 which is purportedly superior though I can't say since I don't have one. Ultimately, I went with the S95 because I have an LG C3 and wanted something that I could be sure was compatible with the tv and its settings. If you're using a Panasonic 820 or 900, which if you don't already, I highly recommend, go to the home settings, click advance settings and switch from stereo to surround encode. If you're using an LG tv use an Earc hdmi setting, not arc or Bluetooth. Switch the sound settings to cinema if you are watching movies on a Panasonic, a sports app like Espn, or amazon prime. If you're watching a youtube video I recommend AI sound. Most importantly make sure your advance sound settings are set to Bitstream NOT PCM (trust me there's a world of difference in LFE input) and passthrough especially if you are watching movies. When I first installed the system, it sounded good definitely superior to the internal speakers but no where near high definition, much as many of the reviews are complaining about. Once I properly calibrated the settings it made world of difference. Many people complain about the rear speakers being weak and that was certainly the case with me when I used the factory defaults. Once I set the sound settings to bitstream and passthrough the rear speakers were much more powerful. I just say a movie in Imax and honestly, I can't say it was any better than this system once I got it properly set up. One minor complaint, and problem I anticipated and remedied in advance is the short cords which don't make for good rear speakers. I recommend getting three 10 ' extension cords as well as an eight-outlet power strip in advance. Once I did that, I was able to place the rear speakers in the back where they belong. In conclusion, I highly recommend purchasing it and a don't be discouraged by some of the less enthusiastic reviews. Once it is properly calibrated, which may require so fiddling and research, you'll find it is a top-of-the-line home theater enhancement very much a movie theater at home. Especially considering the price drop since it was first introduced, it is very good value for money where or not it compares to the Samsung 900.

I have a 77" LG G2 television paired a Samsung Q90R 7.1.4 soundbar system. I wanted to match my TV with a LG soundbar as I lose some functionality using the Samsung. While I saw many reviews regarding the Wi-Fi I decided to give it a chance. For seven months I have had my eero Pro 6E router next to my sound bar hardwired to the television with no issues. As soon as I installed the LG it completely brought down my mesh network as others mentioned. I have gigabit internet and my TV would buffer hardwired on YouTubeTV. This never happened once with my Samsung. I then moved the router to the other side of the room which created another problem. The mix of 2.4 and 5ghz from the Eero really messed with the TV. Long story short I returned the LG and went back to my Samsung. While the sound quality was great using LG to LG I could not tolerate all of the wi-fi dropping issues with my eero network.

Liked the ease of set up, blue tooth connectivity and the sound. Was not happy when the volume went to max and this static blasted the room and my ears. Seems the only way to correct the problem is to leave the unit unplugged for 15- 30 minutes and try again. Repeating this process the next time it acts up. Would not recommend this set ........

With the price marked down to under $1000, I bought this and upgraded from my Yamaha RX-V385 5.1 sound system. I am running my audio via E-ARC pass-through. I stream and watch everything from my PC on my LG 49NANO85 with Atoms Home Theater enable for audio. After experimenting with between Standard, Cinema, and Game modes I found Cinema gives the best quality that I myself am looking for. Pros: In Cinema Mode, the quality is incredible. Standard is okay as well. No long audio cables to mess with, just 4 power cables. Blehs: The remote itself is simplistic and incapable of accessing the majority of the unit's features. This is easily rectified with the LG Sound Bar app. Cons: I haven't found any real cons so far.

I was hesitant to buy since I'm pretty committed to Polk after the years however I took the chance and bought this system. It was a return so there was that risk as well. It was easy to set up and position. The rear speakers do not come with any mounts so you have to get some or sit them on a table. I bought some wall mounts that seem to work well. Don't skimp on the HDMI ARC cable either. It is a quality system and it needs quality cabling. I agree with the others about cinema mode. Amazing to be honest. I have an LG TV so it was seamless to connect. I did have some issues with the wifi setup I'm the sense that you can't connect the rears without wifi connection on the TV. Also for the price I really feel these companies should provide paintable wire. While it is clear you can still see it so I will need to update the wire as I am a renter and can't really start drilling holes all over. Overall very pleased and now converted from Polk!
