I am very pleased with this. Matches great to evo series LG tv. Good integration. Some details: Not a replacement for a home theatre set up sound system, but does a great job to give the TV great sound. Subwoofer is better than expected and adds a lot. WOW Orchestra is not so wow. That's feature where you can use sound bar with TV speakers for more immersive sound. I think sound bar sounds better without the TV speakers going. Dolby Atmos actually seems to work well. We were watching one movie that had birds in background in forest scene. Was excellent presence. Did not seem to be coming from sound bar. Has extra hdmi input so using hdmi eARC does not lose you an hdmi input on TV. Have blu ray player plugged into sound bar and selecting HDMI 2 on LG evo OLED tv selects it while also handling the sound functions well. Settings that are working best for me (long time HiFi interests): - sound formats: Cinema expansive stage but does not sound right. AI Pro sound does not sound great to me, but better. I like best Standard selection. UPDATE after a week with it. I still like Standard sound best if on a movie or regular television show, but I've found on some YouTube music choices or on concert videos (vs movies) on Apple TV, the Standard mode selection does not sound good. Why music in movies sounds so good but not some music of other sorts, I have no idea. When I experience that, switching to sound mode AI pro or Cinema work much better for some reason. AI sound pro mode might be sweet spot if I decide I don't want to bother to change it (which is quite easy to get to and change and change back depending on what you are watching. This is a setting on the LG TV and very easy to get at and toggle. - And with that selected, sweet spot for me is bumping up level on subwoofer and also on bass a bit over the middle settings. So, not all the way up but not flat, center, either. Sounds great on voice, news, movies, etc. Massive improvement in TV sound with some depth, oomph, bass, and robust middle. I get the weaknesses of this or any soundbar compared to a full HiFi system. So the get is simplicity and integration. This will not confuse your family members. I cannot comprehend the reviews here that suggest sound is no bette than that from the TV alone. The TV speakers are unusually good but the sound is so limited compared to with this sound bar--it's a huge difference. Con: I could not get the sound bar to connect to WiFi in any attempt. LG Soundbar app just could not do it. I do not know why. Was on same SSID, etc and following instructions on app. So, learned how to change settings with remote to get sound I like (and you can set main sound type (again, I liked Standard best) on TV with TV remote snd then use sound bar remote to tweak sound. Not terrible. And the sound I like works well for everything so I don't expect to fiddle with it much in the future. I would totally buy this again. PS. I buy a lot on Amazon and bought this here but returned it was shipping got delayed so went to get it at Best Buy.

Great sound system overall. Works great, sounds great, although not right out of the box. Putting it together could have been easier if the included instructions were more than just a couple pictures and no words. The included stand is a key feature of this setup. It completely replaces the TV's included stand and is far more robust and stable. The sound bar mounts to it with included screws. Would recommend you hookup every cable you want to use now and in the future because once it's screwed in place it is impossible to get to without taking the whole thing apart again. Also, all the default sound settings are awful. Once you enable the WOW audio enhancement when used with a compatible LG TV and adjust the subwoofer and speaker settings in the app you have to download, it has good bass and sounds really spacious for a 3.1.3 system. If you find it for a good price its definitely worth it even if you have to put some extra effort to get the best out of it.

Bass, adjusts the soundbar bass ( too heavy ) i reduced bass by 2 clicks . default soundbar bass drowns out speech . subwoofer setting is at default value . preview : LG SLM5Y 2.1 soundbar 2 speakers in the bar , 400 watts total . works with SPK8-S rear speaker kit . SLM5Y sold at LG and Target retail stores . Just under 200 dollars . works Nice , always reliable . 1 HDMI input , 1 HDMI Arc output , SPDIF input 1080p pass through , Arc is output only ( video with audio ). Text scrolling display ( nice ) a little cramped to access HDMI ports SC9S 3.1.3 , 6 speakers in the bar . says 400 watts total . works with rear speaker kit SPQ8-S . 648 dollars . 1 HDMI input , 1 HDMI eArc in\out , SPDIF 4k Dolby vision pass throughs video out to TV's eARC input . Roku Ultra is still the best streaming device . Roku Ultra recognizes Atmos streaming content PS5 does NOT recognize Atmos streaming content from streaming services . Vizio v-series 505-h9 2020 model passes through Atmos from Roku Ultra out of TV eArc to SC9S eArc input , when Roku Ultra is conencted to a TV HDMI input , provided the TV has an eArc port . ( this requires 2 HDMI ports on the TV,... 1 regular HDMI and 1 HDMI eArc ) a special TV NOT required to get Atmos . connect Roku ultra directly to SC9S HDMI input , then connect SC9S eArc output to any HDMI input on a TV or monitor to send video to the TV\monitor . ( this setup uses only 1 HDMI input port on the TV ) Press the 3 dots info Button on SC9S remote control, the sound bar Speaks : Dolby Atmos , when Atmos is being received by LG SC9S . i recommend downloading the LG SC9S .pdf user manual the SLM5Y remote control works with the SC9S soundbar Both soundbars are 5 stars .

I do not consider myself to be a sound connoisseur. However, I am an audiophile and am able to appreciate a good sound system from a bad one. I bought the LG SC95 because I purchased an LG OLED C3 TV and, all the hoopla by LG that the SC95 is "perfectly matched" to the C3 OLED TV. I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews. On a spectrum of good to bad, this system falls closer to the bad ones. In my very honest opinion, this was not money well spent because the original output from the TV only is just as good as the output when these speakers are attached. In LG verbiage, this is called "Orchestra" mode - output comes from both the TV and the SC95. I have not been able to appreciate any significant difference between "TV only" and "Orchestra" mode. Which really says a lot about what this sound system contributes. On the other hand, I have experienced Bose and B&O systems where you are truly immersed in the sound when the system is putting out the sound! The whole "upfiring speakers" really means nothing - just that they oriented the speakers upwards instead of horizontally at you. I think the latter would have been better rather than trying to take advantage of the acoustics of the room the person is in. After mounting, and setting everything up, I do not have the time or energy to take down the TV and disconnect this system for a return. And I think this works in favor of LG and against the customer.

The music reproduction is very "bright". The sliders for bass or treble have little if any effect. There is no adjustment for midrange. It works fine and and of course is a big improvement over the TV. I have not used this with DT-X or Dolby Digital UPDATED 2/11/24 This is billed as a 3.1 system. It is only 3.1 if your are decoding DTX or Dolby Atmos. It will connect to your phone wirelessly to use the LG App but will not stream multi room audio. The only compatible speakers are LG SQ8. They aren't really wireless. They have a receiver that gets a signal from the sound bar wirelessly but you run speaker wire from the reciever to the speakers. Having checked with LG There are no wireless speakers available. This is updated as of 12/09/2024. I tried to add rear surround speakers to this soundbar. The rear surrounds have been discontinued and aren't available. LG customer support gave me an alternate model number but they dont seem to be available in the U.S.A. I am reducing my review down to 2 stars.

Upon reading reviews I decided to give this product a shot. One reviewer made the remark that the original TV speakers were louder than the sound bar and the subwoofer is true. But the sound bar and subwoofer make the sound more clearer. You can definitely distinguish the highs and the lows and we love how the base works from the subwoofer. If you want something that has a massive boom continuously. This is not your product you need a separate amplifier and subwoofer system. The subwoofer works when it is appropriate in with movie. This item really does provide crystal clear sound at high levels with perfect base to match. Setup was extremely easy if you have an LG TV ,and you can use the TV remote to control the soundbar and subwoofer which is important. I was tired of having too many remotes. We are really happy with this product and look forward to getting a second one.
