The size is ideal and does make a beautiful cross. However, even with only 1 piece of paper, it is very difficult to press down and the lever flexes slightly as you press down. I had to punch out about 100 crosses and I'm fairly certain my finger is bruised now from it. It will not take more than 1 piece of paper at a time either.
