  • Best Picture I Have Ever Had
Size: 77 inch Style: TV Only
I kept waiting for the perfect TV, and I found it. I have always been an early adopter of technology. I bought a Sony 34 inch 16x9 1080p tube TV when it first came out. It was one of the best TVs I have ever had for picture quality. I then moved on to at Samsung plasma TV that had a wonderful picture, and I still use in my bedroom. I had a Samsung LED that was wonderful too. This is by far the best. Gaming: I have every checkmark on my Xbox Series X checked. I have it set to 120fps, 4k, and Dolby Vision enabled. When I turn the Xbox on, the TV sets itself to game mode. Incredible. I see details now that I realize we're to dark before. Games with Dolby Vision support trigger the setting in the TV automatically. Incredible. Movies: Wow. I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to have automatic HDR and Dolby Vision detection. I have a Vizio Dolby Atmos 5.1 (7.1?) soundbar that works flawlessly with the enhanced picture. Heaven. Streaming: I have not used it. See Nvidia Shield (next paragraph). Nvidia Shield Pro (2019): I use my Shield for all streaming. It triggers Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision with no issues. Have Dolby Atmos support detected with no issues and you say yes to enable. My settings TV: I have cinema, or directors mode enabled. This sets all the picture settings correctly for colors. Otherwise, this TV is blue saturated like all other TVs out of the box. With my Shield, I had to turn off framerate match as it caused my Shield to reboot. I need to play with this more, but not worried about it. Soundbar: Set to HDMI eArc, and forget about it. I believe that the TV has to be set to support HDMI eArc, but can't say for sure. Check that if you don't see the Dolby Atmos indicator on your soundbar. Pro tip: If you have any problems, unplug the HDMI cable from the device (any of them), and it will reset and renegotiate settings between all devices. Summary: This is by far the best TV I have ever had. Warning: I do not have kids or a partner that pauses a program and walks away for an undisclosed time. This is an OLED, and can get burn in. I have not had that, and my Nvidia Shield is set to Screensaver after 15 minutes. You should not leave static images or CNN/Fox/MSNBC on all day with this TV. While it is supposed to mitigate that problem with protection and software, why risk it. ... show more

  • Awesome TV - and Easy to set up!!!
Size: 77 inch Style: TV Only
Set up was a breeze, surprisingly. Mine went into a room with 2 bright skylights and the picture is fantastic. Got it with the Sound Bar and wireless sub-woofer. Everything synced up the first try. I was watching tv about 5 minutes after pressing power for the first time. Plenty bright and big enough for my 17x17 living room. Only con.... the mounting plate comes with ultra-cheap sheetrock anchors. All 6 of the ones I tried ended up spinning in the sheetrock, but I had other ones handy so no biggie. The 4 fins that hold the anchor are tiny and the amount of force needed to open the anchor behind the sheetrock is greater than these 4 fins can stand in the sheetrock. Also, it does not come with stand so order one separate if you want one. Wall mount bracket was included. ... show more

  • Beautiful, until it isn’t.
Size: 77 inch Style: TV Only
I was so excited to get this television. This was my second LG OLED and a major upgrade from my first generation 55 inch. I had it professionally installed and hung on the wall, synched with the LG soundbar and was truly blown away. The picture quality was amazing, the sound was like you were in a theater. Then came a horizontal line of dead pixels. This happened approximately 16 months after purchasing the tv and 14 months of actually using it. It’s important to note that LGs warranty only covers full service for one year… with this model you get a five year panel warranty - you pay for labor. But good luck. I have been having nothing but problems with LG customer service. The back and forth of trying to find someone to come out and repair the TV has been unbelievable. The first vendor refused to answer the phone after the first call when he asked me why I was calling rather than LG. The second vendor said I am out of range from their shop even though LG insisted that this shop would work. So I sit here. Staring at a blank tv- it went from one dead line of pixels to two to now having a mind of its own and turning itself off 10-15 seconds after turning on. I call LG to attempt to get help but it’s an endless circle of pain. It has been two months and yet there is no resolution. LG has stated their “presidential Response Team” will be reaching out to me in 5-7 business days but at this point unless they take the tv back and provide me a new one I can’t see how they are going to resolve this issue. Far beyond disappointed and leaning towards never purchasing an LG product again. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this or any of their other high end TVs at this time. If LG comes through and makes this right I will gladly come back and edit but I do believe this review, like my chats, emails, tweets, and phone calls will go unanswered and unnoticed. ... show more

  • Worth seeking out if you are holding on to your Kuro TV
Size: 77 inch Style: TV Only
I purchased this to replace my beloved Pioneer PRO-150 Kuro TV. It was evident out out of the box that this was a definite upgrade over the Kuro. I will say that compared directly and at the same light level and resolution the Kuro holds its own in terms of color and saturation but the blacks are where the difference is most notable. The Kuro was professionally calibrated over 15 years ago and held up well over the years however the brightness 4K resolution and overall color palette outshines the Kuro, the subtly in hues are immediately evident when observing clothing and nature scenes, 4k is sublime as it's almost life like in its presentation. The G2 TVs come with an NTSC 3.0 tuner, something that LG has elected not to include in 2024 G3 and C3 models and later, this means new models don't have the capability of picking up 4k over the air transmissions, you will have to buy an outboard tuner. They can be had for a bargain now so don't wait until they are gone. ... show more
