I purchased the 12,000 unit a month ago and it was loud and not cooling our large bedroom enough, so I returned it for this unit. I originally purchased the first one at Bbuy, which only has a 15 day return policy. I decided to get the new unit on Amazon due to the 30 day return....And the Assurion insurance was cheaper, and had more benefits (labor included). This unit is so much more quiet and I can already tell that the room is getting cooler much faster. Now keep in mind that it's only been installed for a few hours. I'll update if my feelings change. By far this is the best unit I purchased. My central unit went out & I didn't want to get another one. Look at other window units and decided on this one. My son n law installed it for me and I got home about 30 minutes later and had to asked if it was on, that is how quite it was. I only need it to cool the front part of my house which is about 670 sq ft and it does the job. Having it wifi to where I can control the temperature before I get home is a bonus. I purchased a portable unit for the bedrooms but this cools off my kitchen, dining area, family room and the hallway. This one is worth my money spent. ... show more

First off, the Description indicated Cools up 800 sq. ft. Box Arrives and it clearly says 700 sq. ft. So not off to a good start right away. Installed the unit by professional Electrician. Turn it on and it is super loud. Nothing about the unit about quiet is even close. To add to the loud noise the back of the unit is banging loud like an uneven washing machine. I called LG Customer service, the person was out side working from home and I could barely hear him. I asked if he was outside, he said yes, I'm working from Home. We try to trouble shoot the issues but nothing worked. I also got annoyed I could barely hear this person on the phone. He said he would call back, he did, but the quality did not improve. He then goes silent without saying anything and then nothing after 3 minutes of dead air, so I hung up after trying over 35 minutes to troubleshoot this whole issue. I have LG everything in my home, Fridge, Stove, Dishwasher, Microwave and Washing Machine. This customer experience has been awful. I'm not sure where it started?? Amazon Delivery not handling the product carefully and banging it around in it's transport? Or just poor quality. I was trying to surprise my wife as she's been gone for awhile for Medical reasons. Now it's not happening. Not a satisfied LG customer at the moment. ... show more
