  • Fast, light, solid machine for on-the-go business productivity
Capacity: 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, AMD Radeon Graphics Style: 15.6 inch IPS Touch Pattern: AMD Ryzen AI 7
At a high level, I would describe this is a business productivity machine that's friendly for users who travel regularly, with some pleasant surprises on weight and battery life. I have been quite happy using this as a primary work machine. Case and weight When opening the package I immediately noticed how light laptop felt. Not quite as light as a tablet, but definitely lighter than my average laptop of this size. I expected the case to feel cheap as a result, but the body feels firm and rigid, and the lid snaps closed firmly. The look on the black device is nice as well, mitigated only by how easily it seems to pick up fingerprints even with dry, recently washed hands. They come off easily enough with alcohol wipes, but does affect the aesthetic. Performance I found this machine to be quite snappy in general, launching Edge within a second and an Outlook profile with a good bit of history within 5 seconds. Throughout my normal work day, the CPU rarely exceeds 25% when running an active Teams meeting with video or a screen share, Outlook, Word, Excel, and an open RDP connection. The fan is reasonably quick to kick in, but it's pretty quiet and so that didn't bother me. While I'm certainly not a heavy gamer, when I did foray into some lighter games (Starcraft 2, League of Legends), the CPU again was not significantly strained, running SC2 at high quality in 1080p at around 50% CPU. On the gaming note, I will say that the graphics card here seems primarily geared for productivity versus gaming. While it can run some more modern games at low quality settings and get 30-50 fps, I would not classify it as a gaming machine. Back to the SC2 example, I could run that 2015-era game at full quality and get 40-50 fps with no lag or hiccups, but an old RTS is not a new FPS. Battery life This is where this laptop shines for me. I am accustomed to getting 4-5 hours from a normal laptop, or 6-8 from something with a larger battery. I ran on battery 10 hours, running Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Edge full time, and an active RDP session for half that time, all with the screen at full brightness in balanced power mode, and at the end of that time was down to 45% battery. Left me feeling like I could put in a full day without having that "should I plug in" question nagging at me all afternoon, which when traveling is quite nice not to have one more thing to think about. Keyboard I like that this thing has a number pad, which comes in surprisingly handy on the productivity front. The keyboard feels decent, not a ton of vertical movement but not soft and squishy. Trackpad The trackpad behaves smoothly and is of a decent size. It also supports the two-fingered scrolling, which is quite handy. It did take me a while to get used to the buttonless design, finding myself left-clicking instead of right-clicking due to where my hand drifted, but once I got used to it, it wasn't an issue. Screen The 1080p screen is sharp and acceptably bright, not quite as bright as a MacBook Pro, but bright enough that I don't find myself squinting to see when I'm near an airport window with sun coming in. While it's a larger screen for a laptop, it's slim and light enough that it in no way feels bulky for something of that screen size. On the touchscreen front, it took my brain a bit to get used to the anti-glare coating on a touchscreen, but once I did, it's worked well. Haven't noticed any responsiveness issues due to it not being standard glossy glass, and in fact I feel like I can use it with a gentler touch than many other laptop touchscreens I've used. The screen still wobbles when tapping as it does on most touchscreens, but when swiping and scrolling it's steady enough that it remains still if you're gentle. Camera The camera is of reasonable quality, providing a mid-range picture in moderately low-light situations with a little bit of visual grain. If you're in a high-contrast setting, you'll need to adjust the camera settings manually to even things out a bit, but workable for meetings and such overall. Power The power brick on this one is nice and small, closer to an oversized tablet charger than your standard laptop cord. It uses one of the two USB-C ports on the left side of the laptop to charge, and while the use of a USB-C port is not usually ideal when I have several things to plug in, the battery life on this is good enough that I've rarely had that be a blocker for me. The use of USB-C also meant I could swap out the cord with a type or length that worked better for me, which I really like. There's a lot to be said for standardization there. Software This is a full-fledged Copilot machine, with all the bells and whistles that entails. I will say that this came without the usual cost I would expect of battery life and intermittent slowness, so AMD did their work well on this one. While not all of the included LG software wasn't relevant for me, there were a couple of handy applications mixed in there, such as the mobile screen sharing application that came in handy for a couple presentations. ... show more

  • Excellent laptop, thin and lightweight.
Capacity: 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, AMD Radeon Graphics Style: 15.6 inch IPS Touch Pattern: AMD Ryzen AI 7
I ordered this laptop to be used while traveling. It is very thin and lightweight, which makes it easy to transport. The screen size is fifteen inches and has good graphics and display. It runs windows 11 Home version, has 16Gigs of memory and a 1 TB drive which is a lot of storage. The laptop is fast and seems more geared towards productivity and web browsing rather than gaming. Installing more memory would help with certain types of gaming but for what I use it for, it is good as it is. The charging pack for it is small as well and uses USB-c technology for charging and the battery lasts a long time. It also includes an HDMI video port to be able to connect to a projector or TV for larger display or presentations. Overall, you will get your money's worth with this is an excellent quality, lightweight and thin laptop. ... show more

  • Longtime Mac user here – this is what I think of the Gram
Capacity: 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, AMD Radeon Graphics Style: 15.6 inch IPS Touch Pattern: AMD Ryzen AI 7
Longtime Mac user here. I help people with technology and sometimes that includes folks who own a PC, so it's nice to have one on hand. The only other PC I’ve had of my own to work problems out on was a donated 2020 HP laptop with significantly lower specs than this, so I’m happy to have this vastly updated LG laptop to assist me when I need to work with the Windows folks. This is stunningly lightweight. Compared to my 16-inch Mac laptop, this thing’s a feather – but it’s also plastic, which feels less premium and tough. That said, the plastic doesn’t feel bad in usage and looks great in black. Coming from a Mac, these are the two Gram features I love the most: • The touchscreen is a lot of fun to play with (I don’t know how much I’ll end up using it from day-to-day, but I’ve always maintained that it’s nice to have when you want to use it). • The Windows version of FaceID. I wish I had that option on my Mac! It’s not as secure as TouchID from what I understand, but it is simpler to use and easier to set up. The FaceID feature has only failed to work for me once so far. Coming from a high-resolution display Mac laptop, I was concerned about downgrading to a screen that is only 1080p and not quite as bright. So far, it’s not that big of a deal. My brother didn’t notice a difference in screen quality at all, and I only do if I’m actively thinking about it. Text is maybe a little crisper on my Mac. I also miss the large trackpad on my Mac; I feel more confined on the Gram. The Gram's webcam is acceptable, nothing special at all. I love how tiny the power adapter is for this laptop compared to the brick with my last PC. Also, the manual says not to use the Gram laptop on a bed because of how hot it can get. Big yikes! Compared to Apple's amazing fanless MacBook Air laptops, these Grams have cooling fans. Feels like a regression there. It’s interesting to have USB-A ports available again. I do miss them from time to time on my Mac. But I’d rather have more USB-C ports on here. USB-C is the future, and I have to sacrifice one of the Gram's USB-C ports just for power. Additionally, I miss having access to USB-C on both sides of the laptop so I can plug in power on either side. This computer already crashed once for me in the first few hours of usage, when I typed my first query in to the ChatGPT app. The touchscreen generally seems to work well. The trackpad doesn’t seem as precise as on my Mac; I’ll often go to click something and the cursor moves in the process, which is annoying. Overall, this is a huge improvement over my last PC, and does offer a few unique advantages compared to the Mac. ... show more

  • Great experience.
Capacity: 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, AMD Radeon Graphics Style: 15.6 inch IPS Touch Pattern: AMD Ryzen AI 7
Overall view of this laptop is that it’s great not fantastic. The positive points of this or that it’s super thin, super light. It is equipped with an amazing screen. It is a textured touchscreen. It’s pretty responsive. It’s handy for certain things. The screen itself looks beautiful. It’s very bright. It’s very vivid and its colors. It’s very accurate. You can see it from all sides, which is fantastic. It makes other laptop screens that I use look terrible. The hardware that’s inside is really modern and pretty fast. I can’t figure find out who makes the SSD. I did find out who made the chip set for it but it looks like it is LG made SSD. Only found an LG laptops. Battery life on this unit is great for every day tasks The problems I have with this unit why I can’t give it five stars. The keyboard is very slim for me personally it’s not comfortable typing for long periods of time. The function keys are set out of the box to be the F keys and not the special functions. The average user is going to be using the volume up and down more than they’re gonna be using F1 F2.etc. The function key for volume up and down is all the way to the right away from the FN key to activate them. When I close the lid on this unit, it doesn’t fully go to sleep and I found that it was still getting hot inside my laptop bag and when I took it out, the fan was running and it was really warm. This happened on multiple occasions no matter what I did to it, besides shutting down. The charger that it comes with is great, but the cable is not that long. So if you are plugging this into the average outlet and expecting it to reach, you’re gonna have to be pretty close to that outlet. I prefer a traditional charger or a longer cable. I do like that it’s type C though. I also wanna point out that this laptop stays very quiet no matter what you are doing. I had to stop all the noise around me to find out if the fan was on. The speakers on this unit are fantastic for how small it is. They sound amazing. This laptop is very fast and the graphical capabilities or a plus or somebody like me who is using it primarily for work. But occasionally, I like to play a casual game or two. I did notice though when playing a game or two at low settings. Every once in a while, it would have a lag spike. As it throttled itself back down. Even after playing with the fan curve. I would have to wait until it’s cooled down and the fan stopped ramping up. Before the frame rate went back to normal. I wasn’t playing AAA titles. I was trying to play Halo reach. And the classic battlefront two from 2005. When playing these games I did find my finger slipping to other keys. I’m not finding the keyboard to be super comfortable. My other issue is that this thing is expensive. The ports that comes with on the side are two type C’s, an HDMI and a headphone jack. On the left. On the right, you get two USB A’s and a Lockport. For someone using this for work on a regular basis, I need an ethernet port. I don’t think it’s a bad thing for how thin didn’t like this is that it doesn’t have a built-in ethernet port. For the price, though they could have definitely included an adapter the USB-C to ethernet dongle. We used to get things like this when we buy premium laptops. My other issues that this is not upgradable by any means. Possibly besides storage, but this does not look like it’s designed for you to get into it. From everything I read the ram is soldered down. This is all you get that’s it. You can’t swap that out. Is this processor really benefits from having dual channel high bandwidth memory. From what I’m reading, this is soldered to the board ram. Which I understand for how slim and light it is. I just wish this wasn’t the case. Overall, for an out of the box experience for the average user this is a really good laptop. For Work, school and casual gaming. If you can afford this thing. You won’t be disappointed. ... show more

  • Light, thin, and fast
Capacity: 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, AMD Radeon Graphics Style: 15.6 inch IPS Touch Pattern: AMD Ryzen AI 7
This LG gram laptop is light and thin. It's got a variety of ports, including a 3.5mm audio port that I love to see on devices. It charges up in a reasonable amount of time, and the battery lasts for a long time! It has some LG utilities/bloatware installed, but it's a lot less than I expected. The internals are top notch in my opinion, almost all the chipset and stuff is made by AMD or LG. The audio is Realtek. I was surprised and I'm taking away one star for it, the SSD is unbranded. Crystal Disk can't identify it, and Smart Data is limited. I looked up the model number on Google and didn't get any hits either. My best guess is it's based on the Phison Controller so I hope it lasts. I'm getting 25fps on Furmark2 at 1920x1080 resolution, and it plays most games just fine. It's more than enough for Office, and it would make a great laptop for a college student. The AI stuff is neat, but I don't know what to do with the built-in ALU processor. I think it may be something cool later when more software supports it. This is a serious competitor to the MacBook Air and overall a really nice portable laptop. ... show more
