I started Sim Racing in 1999 with Nascar 3. I had a V2 wheel that sat between your legs. I soon progress into N2003 and a TSW. Then came "Force Feedback" and in 2011 my G27 has been sitting on my desk ever since. Still a great wheel and I can still run top 5 speeds with it. I have a F1 Style wheel I made and really like for even Nascar. I decided to give this Direct Drive a shot. I found a Beautiful Turtle Beach F1 Wheel. I looks amazing. I got it in hopes the KD3 would go on sale. It looked like a great entry level wheel. I am 65 and my hands are in terrible shape. I thought a 3.2 wheel would be a good strength for me. I was excited to try the hub with both wheel. I knew we had a problem right from the start. This was not a new wheel. It had been opened and scotch taped back together. The original seals had all been cut. I went ahead and opened it. All the boxes and bags had been opened and taped back closed. I went ahead and tried to set it up. It would not recognize the pedals, or either wheel. I tried every option I could find in the manuals or online. I am a retired IT Manager so I am somewhat knowledgeable about these type of things. The mount is a joke and the wheel is not tight to the desk mount. I could tighten the clamp solid and the wheel hub moved on the mount. This hub would be wobbling all around! Even the main shaft had massive play as if the races had way too much tolerance. So I wrapped everything back up like I found it. And both items are one the way back to Amazon as I type. Firstly, I am a darn good customer of Amazon. They sent me an "Open Box" wheel as new. Shame on you Amazon!!! I could have dealt with that but a whackedout pile of junk just makes me angry. I got a wobbly wheel that won't recognize anything. Mabey Turtle Beach is a fine wheel, but this old man won't take another chance. The next wheel I order new had best not come in "Open Box" form. I forgot to take pictures I was so mad, so I apologize for that. I AM A USER, NOT A RESELLER. I only purchase what I intend to Keep. ( sometimes it just doesn't work out that way!) James B

Have and use a lot of turtle beach products, although not always perfect in some of their cheaper items the higher priced things always come thru for me. Love the feel and feedback of this set up. The pedals are way better than my previous set up. The steering wheel is very responsive and a good size to feel authentic. Even tho I don’t have or plan to get the racing f1 or whatever wheel it is it’s cool that you can just swap the wheel and keep the rest of the set up.

This set up is great! You definitely need a table or stable surface for the wheel though, it's heavy! The display and colors look so good, it's really nice to look at! I tried it with my Xbox and PC, and it did work with both, but it took longer to set up than I would have hoped. It took many tries to connect to the TB app, and even more tries to get it to update. I was able to get the wheel and pedals to both work on xbox, but nothing I did would get the pedals to be recognized on the PC. I'm determined to get it to work, and I'll keep trying, but I'm at a loss right now. Overall, this is a sweet rig and I do like it. It's beautiful, very well built and feels amazing.

Item was defective never could get it to work with my PC or Xbox I tried troubleshooting extensively to no success for 300 plus this wheel should be plug and play after install might of just been my experience but it pissed me off so bad i actually managed to go thru the whole return process

My husband loves this. Thinks its fun and says it makes you feel like you're in a real live Nascar stock car. He ended up purchasing a chair made for race video games like this so it has even more of the right feel even though you don't have to have that to use this wheel/pedal combo. I thought the set up was only for F1 which would have fine but he prefers the Nascar so thats the Xbox racing set up he bought first. He thinks it's awesome and had never even tried a racing game before until now although he's driven an actual race car at both Charlotte Motor Speedway and Daytona. His buddy on a different coast and he will talk and both get on their games at the same time and race and they have a good time razzing each other and competing. He likes the pedals and says they are sensitive but you get used to them - just like driving a different car. The wheel is sensitive too. He's adapted pretty quickly and even shown our friends 14 year old how to operate them and they're both hooked now. Everything connected well and without hitch. It must be durable because they are competitive, bull-in-china-shop guys and not easy on equipment. We've only had it for months now but its great fun.
