  • Great unit
Works great. Quiet when on a warmer setting but the lower you set the temp the louder it gets, that’s with any unit. I will say it is pretty loud when it’s kicking on and off to get the room really cold but it works greats. The dehumidifier setting does work but you have to buy a hose and a bucket so I wouldn’t recommend it for that. ... show more

  • Great additional cooling for the hot summer
This is my first time trying out a portable air conditioner. I moved into a bigger space and having multiple floors means different heat dissipation during hot days. This really helped when our main AC unit was slow and could not cool down our home. It has two modes of low and high fan speed and then you can also control the temperature depending on how cold you want. The fan oscillates up and down to spread out the cold air, and it even has the mode for just the fan or dry fan. In terms of installation it was very simple with the included instructions. I did NOT like the foam pieces that come that you're suppose to stick on to the edge to give it a tighter fit in your window and also insulation. The sticky foam pieces are very sticky and if you get it on your hand it is stuck there almost like goo. I get worried about how the adhesive will age on the window adapter but that's something I don't want to worry about for the time being. I have not used the smart features yet, but I do look forward to setting that up. This will allow me to cool down an area ahead of time when I'm in a different area of the home or maybe even when I am outside of the house. As a basic "dumb" AC, I believe it functions really well and has the basic features you need without being overly complicated. The cools down very fast and has a strong fan, and even though the AC is heavy, it has wheels on it so it rolls very easily on our hardwood. It may be a bit more difficult on carpet especially if you have thick ones. ... show more

  • Cools My Office Quickly But Has Some Positioning Quirks Cools My Office Quickly But Has Some Positioning Quirks
This portable AC works surprisingly well for how compact it is. It cooled my 15'x15' office down really fast, even on a hot day it brings the temperature down in a short time. Setup was extremely straightforward and intuitive. I just plugged it into my 120v outlet and it worked right away. The controls on the unit are simple to use, the remote is handy, and I like having the option to control it through the app (when it works). I was able to fit the unit nicely in my horizontal sliding window (about 4ft x 2ft opening) without any major issues. In my dry climate I’ve barely had to drain it at all, which is a nice bonus. A couple of things to be aware of: The unit is heavier than it looks, so moving it around (especially when you do need to drain it) takes some effort. Though the wheels roll nicely on hard floor. The biggest frustration for me is the placement — the large exhaust hose connection on the back means you can’t push it flush against a wall or tuck it into a corner. It has to sit a bit out in the room, which isn’t ideal if you’re short on space. The hose is also quite short, so the unit has to stay fairly close to the window. I was hoping to pull it farther into the room, but that wasn’t really possible. It's long enough to go from the window to the unit, but that's about it. The WiFi/smart features are hit or miss for me. I was able to connect it initially without issues. However, I am using it in my office wich is an outbuilding that does have a bit of a weaker WiFi signal. Now that it's setup, it constantly shows as “Offline” and I haven’t been able to get reliable control through the LG ThinQ app or voice commands. It works fine with the physical controls and remote, which is what I mostly use. I'm going to toss this one up to my weaker WiFi signal in my current office space, but my laptop doesn't have issues connecting in the same space, so there is that. Noise-wise, it definitely makes some sound, but not uncomfortable by any means. It is loud enough that I have to turn it off when I’m filming videos, but my mics are quite sensitive. That’s pretty typical for portable units, but something to keep in mind if you need a very quiet space. It's worth the tradeoff for keeping the office nice and cool. Overall, it does a solid job cooling and was easy to get running. Just know you’ll probably need to keep it somewhat out in the open and the smart features may not be as reliable as you’d hoped if you're not near a router. ... show more

  • Good, convenient, compact, portable ac Good, convenient, compact, portable ac
I'm very happy to have a fairly small portable air conditioned that I can move from one room to another, as needed, pretty easily. The size of the unit is nice and compact. The window installation kit is a bit problematic: the part that goes into the widow opening is nice and thin (or narrow), but the adapter between it and the hose, goes from narrow, to wide enough for the full sized hose, very quickly, so if you have a widow with a sil that is more than 2" wide, the expansion happens too early and it won't fit properly (see photos). I tried installing this in my work shop and it will not fit, I'll have to make alterations or buy a different adapter kit. Otherwise, installation and set up is straight forward and easy. The noise level is much quieter than my previous portable ac, as well as my widow unit. The cooling performance is good. It was able to maintain a comfortable temperature of 74° in a 600sq ft mobile home type office, in mid 80s, sunny weather (this type of structure heats up significantly in these conditions). I appreciate the versatility of the controls..... it can be controlled by buttons on top of the unit*, the included remote, smart phone, or other smart device. I like the idea of being able to turn the unit on while I'm away, to cool the space down before I get there. It has optional automatic airflow slats, that pivot up and down to circulate air better*, and they do indeed help move the air more consistently throughout the area. I haven't had to drain the water yet, but the humidity hasn't been that high yet either. It has two different modes of dealing with humidity, but I haven't used the "drying" mode yet. I will update if there is anything noteworthy once I do. *the combination of moving slats and top control buttons can be an issue for cat owners..... my cat was fascinated with the moving slats, and pressed buttons while standing on the unit. 😆 This is clearly NOT a fault of the product, but something cat owners should be mindful of. Overall, I am pleased with the unit! ... show more

  • Small in size but powerful in Blowing lots of cold air to chill a huge room.
This is a very high quality LG portable air conditioner that is doing an excellent job cooling a very large room for us. Temperature control is easy and can be set multiple ways but the easiest way is using the phone application. That's nice because I can control it from another room and preset it to go on at a certain time as triggered by my phone. Bluetooth distance is pretty good. The performance of this AC unit is excellent and because it is a single hose unit it does create a little bit of a low pressure Zone. That causes air to come in from the rest of the house and that's okay because the rest of the house is cooler than the room I'm trying to cool with this. The remote control itself is also useful but I find that the phone app is even better. Temperature control is excellent and it does keep the room at a constant temperature about 20 degrees below ambient outside temps, and that's plenty for here in Central Florida. The unit itself is not noisy except when it first kicks on. Nothing to worry about really. It's small and it fits nicely up against the window where we have it attached. Very good performance and everything I've come to expect from LG. Blows a lot of cold air. Well made and durable and definitely a good value at this offered price. I recommend it. ... show more
