Outstanding picture quality and easy to mount. I haven’t had a frame in the past but have seen others and would say that the picture quality here is superior, while still displaying art very convincingly. It took some tweaking of picture settings out of the box but the colors, blacks, resolution and clarity have far exceeded my expectations coming from a Sony Bravia full array LED. We have tons of natural light and the matte screen is amazing. The extra thickness compared to the frame is hardly noticeable, especially when using an attachable frame. Very happy with the purchase and feel cost is justified to get the added benefits of mini LED. Only downside the gallery+ app requires subscription (like the frame) but you get 3 free months and it’s super easy to upload your own art and pictures. 9.5/10 so far.

BLUF: SUFFERS FROM UNFAIR REVIEWS - SUPERIOR DISPLAY AND FEATURE SET COMPARED TO OTHERS IN ITS CLASS I see it all the time, especially with TVs and other electronics. Reviewers judge a device, like this TV, by comparing it to the "best" high-end model that costs 3x more. Not everyone needs all the features or quality of a high-end TV; many folks have a budget. They accept that the model they are buying may not have a super crisp display and all the features, but they still expect their purchase to be on the same quality as other mid-range TVs. With that in mind, I will present my review by comparing this LG 65" to its peers in the same price class with similar display capabilities. DISCLAIMER 1: I will not post "photos" or "videos" when reviewing TVs and/or computer monitors. When photos and videos are displayed online, the color profile is reduced, and the files are compressed; this results in photos and videos that don't truly reproduce the original quality of the device under review. So I want to start off by saying I tried this out, coming from using a Samsung Frame. Someone new to art TVs may have a higher opinion of it, but for the price, 3 stars is being generous. 1) It is significantly thicker than the Samsung Frame. I have the 2022 version, and this is about .5 inch thicker, which is very noticeable in comparison. 2) The whole point of this TV is the Art mode. The first restriction I noticed was only being able to upload 10 photos at a time. Im used to being able to upload a gigabite worth. This was a huge disappointment. In addtion to this, im used to being able to customize the digital matting, size, color, do cropping all from the App and I was not able to figure out how to do this and assumed it cannot on the LG. 3) It is nice that it comes with a white frame already, but I ended up buying another one that better fits my decor. This means I just have an extra. This is a nice feature as it was annoying that Samsung did not offer this. So this is an overall positive point. 4) I do prefer this UI over Samsung, but it is bloaty just like the rest of them. Full of ads and applications you dont want. 5) Picture quality. It's mid at best, as a 4-year-newer TV and what is being sold as full backlit instead of side-lit micro LED. I expected a much higher image quality than my frame. It was honestly even to slightly worse. Blacks were all just a little more grey. 6) This is preference I suppose, but having a seperate box for the inputs on the samsung was something I immediatly missed on this TV. One wire going down vs feeding all the HDMI and power is a bigger effort. All in all, I ended up returning this TV. If this is your first Art TV and you depend on the Gallery vs your own images/ART. This might work for you. But in my opinion, this TV should be sub-1000. Far from the over 1700 dollar asking price. Even the sale price I got it for was too high in comparison to the market. I really wanted to like it because Samsung seems to have been lazy with developing this TV, having cornered the Art TV market. But this is no real competition for the Frame.

I've used a number LG TV's over the years (most recently, a 77" OLED CX) and have enjoyed the picture and build qualities. They are widely regarded as some of the best in the industry. This new Gallery TV adds the "art frame" styling that makes it MUCH less of an eyesore hanging on the wall and I'm here for it. I love the looks, the thinness (it's only 2 fingers thick), and the image performance. Assembly (yeah, you magnetically attach the white frame pieces) is a breeze and setup only involves plugging in the power. The wall mount is incredibly thin and easy to hang. Just remember to level it well using a spirit/bubble level. I'm only using the feet at the moment as I haven't decided where to hang it, but they are very stable despite being thin themselves. Setting up the TV is a bit of a lesson in futility. You have to sign up and log into an LG account to do just about anything. You also have to agree to 4-5 different user agreements before you can use basic functionality. I found it quite annoying that I couldn't even use my own photos in the Gallery feature without logging in. Honestly, the whole webOS system is a mess. It's sluggish, outdated, and bloated. The remote makes it pretty easy to navigate (I love the gyro sensor "mouse" input, but settings are all over the place. Some are in the main settings, some are in the "Home" app, and some are in the app... it's not very streamlined. This is my biggest complaint. Once you get past the "smart" aspects of the TV, everything else is smooth sailing. I use an AppleTV for almost all my interfacing with the TV so I never had to step into the webOS platform again. I really wish there was a breakout box that allowed me to run a single thin cable through the wall like the Samsung Frame. For now, I just use an HDMI cable in a conduit since I only have the one input, but if you have multiple inputs, having multiple cables run in the walls could be a problem. The picture quality is really good and the sound quality is decent enough. They aren't going to blow away an audiophile or pixel peeper, but they'll get the job done in a brightly lit family room. I'd probably recommend a small soundbar as the TV is SO THIN that the speakers can't project sound that well. I can't say there's any range at all in the sound, but this TV caters more towards elegance than performance. At $1300, I feel this is a pretty fair price and on par with other Art Frame style TVs. I think it's a really well thought out TV that will look great on the wall. I do hope LG updates the webOS stuff as that is easily its biggest flaw. I'm really happy with this TV.

Putting aside the Gallery features for a moment, this mini LED TV has excellent picture quality right out of the box. I compared it to my LG OLED and, aside from the black levels, I really couldn't see any difference in normal viewing. It's very bright for good daytime use, but can also automatically adjust the brightness according to the light in the room and dim accordingly. Colors are true and vivid. Contrast excellent. For a set that doesn't have that many picture control settings, well, you don't need them. Black levels are better than the norm due to the backlit pixels, but still not quite to OLED quality. The sound from the built-in speakers is also very good. It can get loud without distortion and the quality, again for built-in speakers, is surprisingly good. And it can be improved on by a number of sound settings and AI tricks like acoustic tuning, a personalized sound wizard, AI sound Pro, and others that can really fine tune the audio to great effect. Try the wizard: I like how it set up the sound for my listening preferences. As for the Gallery TV aspect, the construction of the set is thin and flat on the back, unlike most sets that have a rounded back profile. This allows it to be mounted flat to the wall, giving it a picture frame look that is enhanced by the white border that looks much like a frame. (Using the white border is optional.) The screen is also different. Unlike most TVs that use a glossy screen, this uses a special matte finish and an anti-glare coating. This lends the 'art' pieces a much more realistic and painterly appearance. Yet, it doesn't affect normal TV viewing at all except to reduce glare which improves the viewing experience. The art pieces are chosen in the LG Gallery+ selection accessed on the home screen. 5,000 works are available in collections you can scroll through. I trialed it briefly and it appears that as many as 10 works of art can be downloaded at a time to be used as a screen saver, or a single work statically for as long as you like. You can even create your own works with the assistance of AI as part of the membership. Currently $5/mo. You can start with a 3 month free trial. I may opt in once I select the location to wall mount the TV. Gallery art actually looks very good on this set. LG also offers a free app called LG ThinQ that offers control of all the usual features found on a remote control including 'search' (works well) if you prefer to use your phone to control the set. This is available on all LG televisions and isn't unique to this one. The TV comes with a host of other great viewing features that are highlighted in the product description. There are far more than I would attempt to discuss in this review. But I can say that the Quantum Cell, NanoDot, and mini LED backlight technology in combination with some AI magic and other established technologies make this set an all-round winner. Throw in the unique physical design and you have a set worth the price. Recommended.

I barely write any reviews but this one makes me want to do it so much! I had high expectations for this TV, but unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing. The TV developed severe image duplication and ghosting immediately after setup. The issue affects absolutely everything: HDMI inputs, built-in apps, the webOS interface, and even the LG startup logo during boot. I performed multiple reboots and full power cycles with no improvement. The problem was present from the very beginning and appears to be a hardware defect. What makes this especially frustrating is that this is a brand-new unit. A premium television should not arrive dead on arrival with a major display failure. If you’re considering purchasing this model, inspect it carefully during the return window and test multiple inputs immediately after setup. Very disappointed.

This tv has an amazing picture quality. It's super easy to set up. The remote has a feature that makes it like a mouse pointer on the screen. This tv was very easy mount. The screen doesn't have glare making it perfect for watching in a bright room. The sound is great on this too. It can be mounted flush with a wall, and then you can add on the included frame to make it look like a canvas on the wall. You can actually set this thing up to cycle through different pictures and use it as a photo frame. The picture is bright and vibrant. It has amazing display.

I wall mounted this LG55-inch LX7B QNED TV above the fireplace in my master bedroom and so far could not be happier with the results for my use case. The set came complete with leg stands for table mounting as well as a simpe, very thin profile wall mount for handing like a picture frame. Because I wanted easier access to the cabling, but still wanted a thin profile wall mount, I opted to purchase a Montek thin fixed wall mount that allows for hinging up the screen away from the wall when access to the rear is needed. The overall thickess of the Montek keeps the back surface of this TV a mere one/third an inch away from the wall keeping this TV looking like a hangng piece of artwork. The picture quality of this set is outstanding. While it may not quite meet the standards of the 75 inch I have in the family room on paper, its performance far exceeds my expectations in terms of its color accuracy (after careful calibration) and black levels and contrast. While perhaps not quite the dramatic look of an OLED screen, the micro-LED negates most of the worries of screen burn-in which is particularly important given the intended use of this set as a display unit for gallery art when not used as a TV in the conventional sense. Again, the non-glare finish of the screen makes it particularly effective in my use case as the master bedroom has a very large picture window so a fair amount of indirect sun exposure during the day. Through all this, the picture quality is good with good brightness and contrast. The price is very competitive with the other major brand “frame TVs” making this a good value for the money. Because this TV does not have a “system box” separate from the display and connected by a single cable like its competitor, I did have to place a recessed outlet/AV box into the wall behind the TV to maintain its low profile good looks with not visible wires showing. The TV comes with a changeable picture frame that is magnetically held onto the extremely thin black border frame of the TV itself. The one included in the set was white in color, which just so happened to match the white of another piece of large artwork I have hanging in the same room, so it’s all good! The standard frame is one of the thinnest I’ve seen on the market so if you choose not to use the magnetic “art” frame, the set has a very nice modern minimalist look to it for those who prefer this. The connectivity is somewhat limited as the inputs are limited to one coax/ant input, one LAN/ethernet port, two USB-A inputs, one optical out, and three HDMI connectors (one of which supports eARC/ARC). While some may wish it came with more HDMI ports, the bottom line for me is that three is more than adequate to keep the cost of this set down and like me, others with more complicated systems can manage it with their A/V receiver or an added HDMI splitter. At any rate, the three HDMIs more than meet my needs and makes the number of cables going into the back of the set more manageable. While I do not use the subscription based LG Gallery service, the set has plenty of memory to manage all the applications available for your various streaming/gaming services as well as the ability to utilize a USB thumbdrive for your gallery collection. For conventional TV viewing, I have to state that the free programs available on the LGTV app are quite various and numerous with about 145 channels available. The LG app “store” has all the popular apps commonly available on other smart tv platforms and many more than those available on my older Samsung smart tv. The sound quality is merely adequate with the built in speakers, although the system sound settings allow you to choose between optimization between standing and wall-mounted options. There is also a dialogue enhancement setting. This is a moot point in my use case as I have a 5.1 channel system speakers built ito the walls and ceiling of the master bedroom as I feel that regardless of the flat screen tv, especially extremely thin profile ones such as all gallery or picture frame tv’s tend to have mediocre sound from their built-in speakers, which is to be expected. That being said, the sound from the built-in speakers is better than average IMHO and adequate for regular tv program viewing. Regardless, those wishing higher sound quality will minimally add a high quality soundbar or a full on home theater sound system/receiver. Unlike some some published reviews, I found that the remote controller is fairly responsive. LG give you several options to control your set via the handheld remote including voice control, Alexa control, and Bluetooth control via your smart phone. Menu items can also be selected via the “magic pointer” function on the remote. It does take a little practice/experience to master the use of the pointer function but once mastered, I find it very quick and easy to use, especially when inputting text on the on-screen keyboard as it is much quicker than having to repeatedly click in the up/down/left/right ring. It admittedly does take a bit of practice to precisely get the pointer over the screen button you wish to press, but once you get used to it I find it is far superior to using the conventional direction buttons. There is so much more to this Gallery TV that is covered in other professional on-line reviews, however, I can definitely report that I am very pleased with this set and can recommend it as at least a potential alternative to its more expensive competitor. Of course, YMMV depending upon your specific requirements and desired features/budget. For me, 5 stars.
