I am a big fan of the Levoit/VeSync smart home system. It works well for me and I have multiple devices running through their app. I live on the coast, so I don't have air conditioning, but I do have a couple fans that I wanted to be able to cycle on or off automatically. All I wanted was a simple thermometer that I could use to monitor temperature and more importantly, humidity! This device is exactly that. It uses very little power, so the battery has a nice long life. There are no unnecessary bells and whistles. It's just a very nice temperature/humidity monitor that lets me set up a custom automation to throw on my fans when needed. It's not a full thermostat, but I don't have a use for a full thermostat. Not too long ago they added a firmware update that allows the app to graph temperature and humidity over time. Completely satisfied all around. ... show more

I got this to identify and track hotspots in the house. I didn't expect them to stay connected constantly without the thermostat but I did expect it to collect the data in the VeSync app when it is connected. Pros: they are accurate a small enough to move around. They do connect to my phone when I'm close and shows what the correct temp was at that time Cons: will not record the data it collected. Emailed tech support and they seemed to think it was a hardware failure but replacement device did not resolve the issue. I am really concerned about whether getting a levoit thermostat will even resolve the issue. These do not connect to the WiFi and seem to be blue tooth only but the app always shows them connected even when I'm away from the house so I have no way of knowing if it's correct unless I'm looking at the thermometer. I'm going to give this 4 stars for the equipment and accuracy and lose 1 star due to it not interacting and recording the data in the companion app. ... show more

It actually works. Ive had other thermostats with their own remote temp sensors. This one is always on and updates to the thermostat in real time. I can see a history log of the temp. In my case, myself and 2 dogs heats up the room faster then the hall thermostat. This way I have it set during the sleep scene to go off the temp sensor which keeps me comfortable thru the night. My old thermostat maybe turned on once or twice while I was sleeping. Now I can see the temperature swing up and down. I wish they did make the temperature bigger and bolder but for me its on my bedside table so its not a big deal. ... show more

It was great until it wasn’t, noticed where the sensor was sitting on a table had a white film under it, couldn’t determine where it was coming from at first, opened the cover and found the original battery had leaked inside device and killed it. Now I can’t find a replacement, shows out of stock everywhere? Is there a similar unit that will pair with this thermostat, that’s available? ... show more

Constantly disconnecting in VeSync app immediately after installing. Font on device is small and hard or impossible to read from far away. Could have made it bigger, theres a lot of unused screen real estate. Theres no widget available for a quick view of temp/humidy without going in to the app. Looks to be no Alexa, Google Home, or IFTTT integration at all. Device wouldn’t show up in any of those apps. I was using it on its own, without a Levoit Smart Thermostat. That shouldn’t matter though. These can be used without that. Visually the best looking smart temperature sensor out there, besides the bad font choice. Returned. ... show more

The sensors are nice and have the option for wall mounting or free standing. They do what they are supposed to do and seem quite accurate. The only think I dislike is mostly with the app. Setting up scenes for the heat / air conditioning to read from a sensor versus the thermostat is not overly ready to do. ... show more
