Have had this humidifier for almost a year now, keep it on all the time and it’s still working as well as when I set it up. I bought it for my humidity-hungry plants and have it on 24/7. I exclusively use distilled water, but have used unfiltered tap water before. I keep it set to maintain around 60% humidity and it generally does a good job of maintaining that. I keep a hygrometer about six inches in front of it and find its internal hygrometer is pretty accurate. Though occasionally the humidity can dip 5+% without triggering the humidifier. Eventually corrects itself within the hour without intervention. The VeSync app that can be used to control this humidifier is super convenient. Through the app I can monitor the humidity in the room and micromanage the humidifier remotely if the humidity dips too low without triggering the humidifier. On the driest days of summer, I can find myself needing to refill the reservoir once a day. On some days this can be a chore, so one of these days I’d like to upgrade to a humidifier with a larger reservoir. My only complaint is that filling the reservoir is a little annoying. You refill the reservoir kinda like how you switch out bottles for an Alhambra water dispenser. You fill the reservoir with water, replace the lid, and flip it right side up to replace it onto the humidifier. The haven’t found a way to do this without getting drops of water everywhere. Not a big deal, really easy to clean after, but if I ever need to replace this I’d opt for a model that you can just pour water in from the top. The humidifier is really easy to maintain. Using distilled water helps a lot. I mostly just lightly scrub the device about once a month to remove or prevent any mildew or calcium buildup. I’ll update if any issues come up but 11 months on and I couldn’t be more satisfied with this humidifier. ... show more

I gave it five stars because after adjusting to it, and not worrying about the little things and the false advertising of the "up to 40 hours", I find this mister a great quiet device that will impact a 400 SF room and increase the humidity level. Let's start with the cons: 1. In the manual that came with the mister, and on the Amazon site it states, "up to 40 hours". Well, it might as well say up to 100 years, because both will be true, but none real. I filled the water tank and placed it to work on the Low mist setting ONLY. The tank was empty after exactly 27 hours. Yes, it worked great, very quiet, and efficient for 27 nonstop hours! So, 40? Not in this world, no matter what you do to it. Of course, it will work even less on the Medium and the High settings, but I went with the Low only. 2. You can see in one of the images I added here that due to condensation at the top of the unit (mist nozle), there's water that needs to be removed before you remove the top in order to lift the water tank, else you'll have water all over your night-stand, bed, table, or wherever you placed the unit. This is not a flaw, but something I bring to your attention. Have a small towel of paper-towel next to the unit. 3. The Essential Oil tray, after pressed in, pops out a fraction of an inch and there's no way to simply slide it out. I had to force the little tray after another reviewer commented that he experienced the same issue. After pinching the tray, it pops out completely (see the two images I attached) and you can place a few drops of essential oil. The good: 1. A gallon of water in the tank makes it running for a long time (up to 27 hours). 2. The unit is very quiet and doesn't take a lot of room on the night-stand. 3. The mist setting levels (Low, Medium, High) have one toggle touch button and you can't turn the unit OFF unless you went through all three levels even if you only use the Low mist level. The manual indicates that if you touch the On/Off button for three seconds it turns OFF the LIGHT in the button, but not the unit. This is actually a good thing because the blue light from the button can be turned off, especially if you intend to let the unit work through the night. 4. The unit has an Auto Shutoff sensor that will turn the unit OFF if there's no water in the tank. 5. The manual is simple to follow, even if it is falsely said that the unit can work "up to 40 hours". There's an explanation on how to clean the tank, the unit, etc. 6. Just like you should expect, the mister will perform best with Distilled water - it says so in the manual, and I know so from the different types I used in the past. Do not use tap water. Works very well and is very quiet. However, after about 2 years (or maybe before) the black ring in the bottom started "flaking" off small pieces.....see attached photo. Not sure if it affects the function, but it is a nuisance having to clean it now every time I refill the container.

I love this humidifier. My allergies are so bad and I needed a good humidifier. The humidity levels adjust to your needs and it works perfectly for my family and I. There is little to no noise. In fact, it sounds like a calming white noise. The capacity is perfect for my bedroom and you have the option to keep the lights on or off which was a huge plus.
