I was drawn to this initially because I wanted evaporative tech to avoid droplets of water forming and also due to the size of the space I needed it to cover (2,800 sq.ft 3-story townhouse). The second reason I liked this was that you can use tapwater. The first time I plugged it in it read that indoor humidity was 29% (I was shocked…literally). It used the full 6 gallons and then another 3 and the house was up to 44% humidity in a dry winter weekend. Now it just needs topping off every couple of weeks. It comes on when it needs to. It shuts off when it needs to. You can set your preferences easily. It’s quiet. It seems like it can store away easily. I purchased 4 of the 300S and one of the 600S. The 600S was for the primary Livingroom. It says that it covers up to 753 sf3. I knew it was outmatched, but I have it in a wide open area that is 1,700 sf of open space with 17ft ceilings. While it never quite shuts off, it does a great job raising the humidity level from approximately 20% to 50%+/-. I set it at a 55% maximum. Keep in mind, this is a huge space, much larger than advertised, and it overall does a great job. The rooms feels so much more comfortable. The 300s are for each bedroom and it does an excellent job. They are each more comfortable. These units are great. I hate low humidity but also was afraid of mold and other problems with too much humidity. They all automatically turn on and off when it reaches the prescribed humidity level, and keep it within range. They are easily set with the app. I am glad I purchased them and highly recommend them. I did have an issue with the 600S. It worked great for 2 days, and then started leaking. Luckily I noticed it right away so I could address it. otherwise It could have caused damage to my wood floors. Before I could even write the company for a replacement, they emailed me to see if I was satisfied. I told them about the leak and they quickly sent me another one with a return shipping package to return the old one. I got it within a couple days and have been using the new one for about a month without issues. Every product has bad apples. They have a great product and even better customer service.     • Large humidifier. Pretty good, some drawbacks

Decent evaporative humidifier that does good job of maintaining humidity in the home. With some drawbacks. Humidistat is off by up to 10% (higher than other measurements in the same room) Auto function only works at 50% (So, 40% since it is 10% inaccurate), and to change this you have to make an account on an app. Unnecessary data grabbing from Levoit. Shouldn't have to make an account to use the app. Even so, auto features are limited from what I read from others. I use the % mode and set it to 60% with the fan at the high setting in winter. There is no variable speed on this setting like there is with the auto setting, but oh well. It will short cycle for a few minutes when it reaches close to threshold. Then it turns off for a while, until a 10% drop occurs and then turns back on. It is fairly quiet and will go through six gallons in approximately 48 hours on colder nights and days. It is extremely easy to refill with the faucet tube adapter. Other than the "features" of this unit, and the wheels being hot garbage as they have to tendency to resist rotating, I have no complaints about its overall function. The filters are becoming discolored after about two weeks of use. I am not sure how long they will last before needing replacement. I am using tap water since I'm assuming the chlorine in it helps fight some of the bacteria. If you use filtered water, they may accumulate mildew at a faster pace. Easy to assemble and comes with a filler hose from the sink. When filled with 6 gallons of water, it IS heavy to roll around. But the casters work well and so far no spills. My apartment is only 900 sq. ft. so the reported 3000 sf. ft. coverage is more than enough to handle it. My rooms went from 18% relative humidity to 45% in hours, and have stayed there. It has had a profound impact on my comfort level and even my health. I have fewer sinus issues and improved respiration. It can be loud on hi fan speed, but everything is adjustable as far as the output and auto settings. I hope that the white dust you so often get with some of the vapor mist humidifiers won't be an issue with this one. After two weeks, so far so good. ... show more
