I put this filter in on May 3rd and today on August 29th it looks like this. I touched the filter and it turned my hand black it was so filthy! Less than 4 months! You can’t even tell this filter used to be yellow. The light had not gone off on my Levoit core 300 indicating that the filter needed to be changed yet, but I think that may be set to go off every 6 months. We have two pets in our home and keep this in our bedroom. I can certainly tell a difference at night as I don’t wake up with a stuffy nose unable the breathe like I used to. ... show more

I've used a couple of these and they work great with my air filter. I personally don't change mine as often as recommended but I do take it out and check it and occasionally use a dust cloth or vacuum to get any dust off to extend the life of the filter. You can tell after a while the filter changes color and it needs to be changed plus your air filter tells you when it needs to be replace as well. ... show more

One of the best purchases I've made on Amazon. This filter has been instrumental in providing me clean air. I put the unit under my AC and let it do the rest. People in the flooded areas with spores, etc. might want to consider this. Really works in my opinion.

Works exactly as advertised and is easy to change. Lasts 5-6 months on average and my room feels great. What do I mean feels great? You know when you inhale deeply and you don't have the feeling of the air feeling thick? That's what I mean. I initially bought my air purifier to reduce indoor smoke during smoke season in my city. The other night, I accidentally left my bedroom window open and the room smelled like a chimney. Been using the Pet filter over the standard filter for several months now. Two dogs sleep in the bedroom regularly. The standard filter worked pretty good for pet odors/farts. But after a few months it started to wear off and couldn't fight the odors anymore. When it needed replacing, I got the Pet odor filter. The added carbon and catalyst coating seems to work real well. After these several months, the air in the bedroom is fresh and clean by morning, with no smells recirculating back into the room, like with the standard filter when it was depleted.
