I purchased a 60"X36" lighter mirror for over my sinks during a master bath remodel. The wire for the mirror exited dead center on that huge mirror, so wiring it was a nightmare. Once I discovered the 47617-REB box, it was a simple matter to cut a hole in the drywall, install it and added a new work box and a recessed clock outlet. Now there is plenty of room for the cord coming out of the back of the mirror and the mirror is flat against the wall. One tip I would offer, the screws in to the little flip out holding tabs are super tight. I applied a little hand soap, which is a great lubricant, and they screwed in with ease. I screwed them in prior to mounting them in the wall with the soap then removed them and reinstalled them. Worked like a charm. ... show more

Super happy to find this box to run both low-voltage and high-voltage lines into she shed desk/entertainment wall. I love the fact that you can cover all the wires and plugs but still have clean-looking access. A lot of the other boxes out there are only remodel.     • Careful which 'old work' boxes you use with this.

Great idea. It's much easier to install this recessed box than it is to find recessed outlets, keystone plates, 90 deg adapters, etc. Tip: Be careful when selecting low or high voltage 'old work' boxes to use with this product. As you probably already know, old work boxes have screws that turn flaps that flip out, and then pull them in tight against the wall. I love them. The problem is that the 'walls' of this box are only about 1/16 - 3/32" thick. They're sturdy, but the old work boxes I bought at both Lowe's and Home Depot were limited to tightening more than a 1/4" thick. I taped some small shims to the box before installing it to work around the problem. So, look on Amazon and see if Leviton or others have old work boxes that tighten to a very thin wall. ... show more

This is the best product I've found for home theater type connections. Being recessed, it allows you to put your tv or component rack right up against the wall. Also it has 3 cut outs that allowing for great flexibility. It does require low voltage brackets to mount wall plates to it. These are not included and are available here, but can be purchased from HD at a significant cost savings. On the back there is a rectangular with template that can be cut out if a fourth opening is needed. I drilled a hole in the back as an additional entrance for a conduit. ... show more

I bought and installed this recessed entertainment box and also purchased a high profile cover for it. My goal was to abe able to recess the incredible amount of speaker connections (bannana plugs) without impacting the cables or forcing me to keep my TV table 4+ inches from the wall. The box is sturdy and has a nice finished look, hiding all of the ugly cable connections, when viewed from the side it is not obtrusive at all. you will need to purchase remodel single gang low voltage electrical boxes -- the leviton kit only has holes that are the right size. Notable is that the center of the box has perferation indents on the back to allow a 4th single gang opening if needed. Picture added ... show more
