I opened the package, followed the "fluffing instructions" waited, followed them again... wait, followed them a last time, and then sat down to write a one star review. It just didn't fluff up. You could feel, the material inside was still tight and compact--felt like a 5 pack of t-shirts. There was a little give, but not much--and certainly not fluffy. So I started grabbing either side of the middle and trying to break up that material. THEN it began to fluff up! When you get that far, don't think you're done. Now fluffy, but lumpy. So now you have to work those smaller lumps out with your fingertips--pulling from either side. I've never worked this hard to get a pillow ready to sleep on. It's frustrating, but also a little embarrassing to complain that "fluffing my pillow was too much work." To be fair, I don't think this is the fault of the pillow and more the realities of how it's package for economical shipping. But to me, either this is a sign that perhaps this isn't the best product to purchase online, OR, the vendor needs to do more work in educating customers. They should add a video of how to realistically unpack and fluff this.

These pillows appear to be very well made and are very soft to the touch. I've been using a memory foam/gel pillow for the past 3 years and switched to these. Evidently, these let your head go down further than my neck was used to because I woke up with pain in my shoulders and my neck. I had to take some pain medicine during the day to try and make the pain go away. The pain never went away until I laid down to go to sleep again. I tried sleeping with both pillows the second night, to try and get my head up a littler higher, but it didn't help. In the middle of the night I switched to my old pillow and the pain on one side of my neck went away. I think my wife is going to use them for a body pillow. UPDATE: I've been using this pillow for over a month now and it's my new favorite pillow. I'm not sure why my neck hurt after the first night using it, but now it's the most comfortable pillow I've ever used. It keeps my head cool during the night. If there is a time during the night that my head is warm, I just move it a little and the area is very cool and I go right back to sleep. When my head lays down on the pillow now, it's like it hugs my head and I'm able to fall asleep fairly fast. I'm giving it 4 stars, just because of the initial week that it took me to get used to it.

these pillows are vacum sealed for shipping. however, when I removed the pillows from the vacum sealed packaging, I was surprised that they did not expand much. I slept on them , and would have had more support sleeping on my elbow!

So how often does the average person replace their sleeping pillows? Probably not as often as we should. Even if we are having sleep issues the replacement of pillows is not usually considered. It should be. Now I have lots of experience with feather and down pillows. It is a singular type of experience. I can recall my very first time using feathers and down. Some feel it is too rough or too noisy due to the quills and spines. I have none of those issues with this with these LeVilli Queen Size Hotel Quality Down Alternative Pillows. Although being quite basic in their design and manufacturing they do seem quite soft and cuddly. There are no sewn in side panels. They lay fairly flat but can be fluffed up nicely. They say hotel quality but most likely a Courtyard by Marriott and probably not a Four Seasons of New York. Still, certainly quite serviceable for sleeping at home.
