I'm on a ladder almost everyday in many different situations and this has got to be one of the most well thought out products I've ever used. I don't know why every ladder doesn't have this feature as standard equipment. 1 it adds stability to your ladder just by the extra width at the bottom, 2 the rubber bottom on the feet are way superior to the basic werner ladder feet, 3 is no more using boards , blocks or rocks to stabilize your ladder on uneven ground. 4 how easy it is to use, you don't even have to bend down to engage it or disengage it. Expensive? Yes, worth every penny? Oh hell yes. Does add some weight, but first time you use it, you won't miss the money or care about the extra weight. When you are 24-32 feet in the air working off a ladder you are gonna be so much more comfortable not worrying if that rock or board or whatever is gonna slip. For what Werner charges for their extension ladders, I've never understood why they don't make it easy to buy one with something like this (or this exact device) installed on it. There isn't a single ladder user in the known universe who is using a ladder on a perfectly level and stable service all the time. 99.9% of the time you're trying to rig SOMETHING to stabilize and level things up. You're spending a small fortune on these things, why not make them as usable as possible? Well, adding these leveler legs completely changes the customer experience with the ladder. The install was simple, if you can follow instructions and use a template. Place it, drill three holes and bolt them on. I'd like the rubber covers for the nuts to actually fit on the nuts after you screw them in place, but other than that these are super simple to install. I like the fact I didn't have to hack around on my ladder, either. The only change is the removal of the feet and the 6 holes. I can choose to remove these if I want to sell the ladder or replace it with a taller one later and the 32' unit is still usable when I bolt the feet back on. Beautiful. Using the legs couldn't be any easier, either. Obviously anything you're doing while standing up a 32' extension ladder is going to be somewhat awkward, but I don't see how they could have made it easier -- simply step down on the lever pedal and you're done. The springs are strong, and the locking mechanism inside the leg is exceptionally stable. With these in place, I was able to get up to my house gables to replace area lights while the ladder was on sloping ground, without trying to rig some sort of paving stone, shim, "have the kids precariously hold the ladder" setup. Stand the ladder up in a roughly level position, step down on the leveler, and away you go. Improved the user experience for the ladder and the stress experience for the wife. I have a walk out ranch home, so the sides of the house have sloped ground. I had been placing boards, bricks, etc under the ladder to level it for gutter work. I had the ladder come off a brick that resulted in minor injuries, but could have been much, much worse. I was ready to stop DIY ladder work completely and start paying someone. I found these and decided to give them a try even though they are a bit pricey. After about 20 minutes (or less) of installation I was ready to go and was completely amazed at how well these worked. Be sure to get the kits with two, not just one that moves from side to side. Combined with a stabilizer on top of the ladder, I can now work with confidence and no stress, even on the back of my house when the ladder is fully extended. One minor negative, they do add noticeable weight to the ladder but it is well worth it. I will not own an extension ladder without these ever again. ... show more

These should be on most or all outside ladders. It took about 15 minutes to install them (I was not in any hurry) and they have made working on my house on a hill much easier and safer. I had a contractor here to do some work that I couldn’t do and he seen my ladder and asked about these. I showed them how they worked and offered to let them try it out. They used my ladder to do the jobs here and he said he was getting them for a couple of his ladders. Theses things also got my wife to leave me alone about putting wood spacers under my ladder :) ... show more
