Better than I expected. The base is heavy and sturdy. The neck is stronger than most of this style and seems to be one that will last. I bought it for the gooseneck and love how you can adjust the light to wherever you want it. And it only took a few minutes to put together. I highly recommend.

It was harder to screw in the light bulb than putting the entire lamp together. Sturdy but sleek design - base is really heavy, no danger of it tipping over. The on/off switch works like butter but it is not flimsy. My only complaint is the short cord. A couple more feet would give more options for use without an extension cord. All in all 5 out of 5. It would have been nice to have the cord inside the stand; but, I can see it would have made assembly a bit more difficult. Since the cord is visible, it would have been nice to have it in the same gold tone.

I ordered this to go in the very tight corner next to my bed - it’s perfect for reading in bed - it has a hanging switch so you don’t have to reach up or down to turn it on or off - love that - also very easy to adjust the angle for reading - nice lamp!

This was fairly easy to put together. It comes in 5 pieces and the threads between the 3 posts that you have to assemble are tight. They do fit together but need a bit of elbow grease to get them there. Make sure you assemble it, starting at the base, as the directions call for, otherwise it's almost impossible to get the light part on (I didn't read the directions). The color "Sand Black" is a gunmetal grey, not black. If you want black then choose the black option, but the dark grey color is nice and still fits our color scheme. It's a heavy, sturdy base and it sits well on our carpet, not "tippy". The on/off toggle switch is halfway up the post on the cord. This is where is should be for easy reach. Some reviewers complained that the cord should come out of the base and not the post, but who wants to bend over to the ground every time you need to turn it on or off. I bought it to "flex" over the card table when we're doing puzzles and it's perfect for that. I'm going to order another one for our trailer...in black this time. ... show more
