I really like this lamp, and it's a great addition to the desk in my living room. However, it's antique brass not shiny "gold" brass as advertised. I also don't care for the large logo on the base as that's very tacky.

I've always like Architect style lamps... I Wish I should find one that met exactly what I want... Pro: Floor standing, decent range of adjustment Con: the lamp shroud is kind of small, if using specialty bulbs, it may not be deep enough... its painted white rather than a reflective silver on the inside. and the play in the adjustment loosens every time you change position, so you have to keep re-tightening the tension... to get a far horizontal reach, you need to apply enough pressure to just snap the pin... Cheap, and feel cheap, but better than anything else I have seen so far. May buy some other one one day if I ever find exactly what I am looking for. ... show more

I use it to direct light on the left side of my drawing surface. The bulb is not super bright but sufficient for the purpose and moveable. The arm is a little less flexible than I would like and a heavier base would be better.

I like this style of lamp a lot. Unfortunately, mine came with a good deal of dings, dents, and rust on the black paint. Not exactly what I had expected and poor quality control for sure.

Turning on the lamp is crazy, instead of having the switch on top of the actual lamp to make it easy, it is on the actual power cable harder to access. The screws to tighten the angles are too small and you cannot tighten them hard enough to make the lamp stay in the exact angle I desire which is the entire point of this lamp yo set it where I want it and then change it elsewhwre.elsewhere.. yes if you set in once and leave it it may work. But if you want to set it more often, to unscrew and screw those way yo small screws is not possible.. I am dissapointed.. ... show more

This is a perfect reading lamp when paired with a quality LED bulb. My only complaint is that the head only swivels about 310° and It does not lock in place as firmly as you would like no matter how tight you turn the hand screw. The older lamps I own of similar style with swivel an entire 360° which was nicer. ... show more
