These lights are nice metal and very good quality. I love the gold color of them. They have a switch that you change before you install them to change the warmth and then each one is adjustable on the brightness with a dial on the cord. I loved that I could adjust the arm and the light head to get the perfect position. I wanted to use them as bookshelf lights and mount them to the top of our bookshelf. The problem is that since it’s made for a wall, the cord would have been coming out of the front. I was able to easily disassemble each light so that I could flip the light arm. It then looked much better mounted to the top of a bookcase in order for the cord to run out the “back”. So keep in mind that you do need to make some adjustments if that is what you want to use it for. Overall they are well constructed and beautiful! Highly recommend! ... show more

Nice soft but bright light.

My husband installed this beautiful light today. It’s everything I wanted. The light is not harsh at all and easy to adjust the angle. I read other reviewers mention that it doesn’t have the option to come our farther from the wall but I wouldn’t want to do that anyway. The angle of light is just right for the oil painting we purchased it to light. We are so pleased with it that I just ordered a second one for another painting. My husband installed an outlet behind the painting so the black cord doesn’t show at all. I attached the inline on/off switch to the back of our frame with adhesive Velcro dots. It’s hidden and super easy to turn off and on, no problem. It arrived quickly but the box was not in good condition, however the light was perfect and the items all there. ... show more

I do really love this light. It’s beautiful. The construction of it is stylish and well done and certainly not cheap feeling. I personally love the black cord because it blends in beautifully with my black furniture. My biggest problem and why I had to knock a star: it’s WAY TOO BRIGHT. Like insanely bright. I only wanted to light up my art piece I constructed, instead it lights up the entire room. This should have come with a dimmer or been made compatible with a dimmer switch. I have tried it with an LED dimmer switch and all that accomplishes is an instant rave flicker (very bass drop now). It’s a huge flaw. However I am going to install a solution (so for anyone with the same issue, this is for you). LED dimmer sheets. They’re basically safety stickers that you can apply to soften and dim harsh lights, keep stacking till your desired light effect has been achieved. I just wish I didn’t need to spend an additional 20 dollars to go from STROBE to Netflix and disrobe. ... show more

This light is awesome, great light with an awesome price. It was easy to install, had a switch on the wire, mine is attached to a timer. My only negative (minimal) is that it is brighter than my other lights, but I just think that will only need a day or 2 of getting used to. Can be hardwired or just plug in. Easy peasy! Bought this as a present for my daughter to light a wall hanging. Both she and I think it is very nice looking and it works well. The wiring options are a nice addition and I choose to use the cord with plug. Highly recommend to others.

OK overall. The light is pretty bright and cannot be dimmed. Unfortunately it does not have an adjustable shade, which would be a useful feature. The wall plug is low profile with an in-line on/off switch. The mounting system could be better, but it is adequate. You'll need a drill, screwdriver, pencil, level, measuring tape, and maybe a lightweight hammer. The wall anchors are of an older, less reliable design, so you may want to upgrade them. The screws are 1 inch long, which might not be long enough to secure the bracket adequately to a stud, should you hit one. Lining up the small machine screws that hold the base onto the mounting bracket can be slightly tricky. It does come with some extra screws. ... show more

Sleek design, bright light

This picture light was just what I was seeking. It is reasonable priced, and has a sleek design that doesn’t interfere with the frame. The light is clean and bright which is important to me to illuminate my paintings, even though it is a warm white shade it doesn’t distort the colors of the paintings. The bulb is not replaceable so when it goes you’ll have to buy a whole new unit. But it’s an LED lamp so that should be in a dozen years or so. The cord is long too. Just hung this LED picture light, solo, no hubby help needed. It looks great! I will adjust lighting once nightfall. I opted to install using it as a plug-in rather than hardwired. Easy to affix bracket to wall and screw on mount. Screws and anchors are provided, tools are not. I needed a measuring tape and a Phillips head screwdriver. If installing using this method, I suggest having the base of the mount be as close to the top of your art so the black wire does not show. I have white walls, so i connected a short white extension cord, wrapped the excess wire behind the art. ... show more
