I bought this reader last year and it worked great. Just recently i had an issue where it stopped working after i had used copying my card to an external drive. Once it died i contacted their support for any help on what to do. Thankfully they asked my address and sent out another. Within a few days the reader arrived and it works perfectly again. They also followed up to make sure everything was working and that i got it. The card reader work’s amazing and the customer service was even better.

This seems to work well. Note that the card doesn’t go all the way in. Decent transfer rate to my Mac. You can’t load it in reverse (send photos back to the card). Does not automatically delete photos and videos unless you accidentally choose that option in Lightroom. Works in a pinch. I assume not having usb slots speeds up the processing.

For the sake of convenience I decided to get a couple of micro sd card readers and found that the one I purchased about a year ago was too good so they had to take it off the market. After reading through quite a few reviews I discovered that a common denominator with these things is that they become HOT after having been used for a while. In my case, I'm going to be writing A LOT of music to micro sd cards and would just as soon do so without a fire hazard. I came across this paragraph in Leniton's description of this product, which decided me: "The aluminum alloy shell of this USB-C Micro SD card converter provides excellent heat dissipation, protect your card from overheating, and eliminate potential safety hazards" I contacted Leniton's customer service department about this to make sure I was interpreting this correctly and got two very prompt and courteous responses. So they get five stars for customer support also. I haven't used these things enough to tell whether they live up to this claim but they certainly performed flawlessly when I tried them out.

Update: After posting my initial review, the vendor contacted me for more information and offered to send a replacement unit. The replacement unit works with my Surface Pro 8 and HP laptop. It connects, stays connected, transfers files and ejects when commanded. If you connect the card reader without a card in the unit, windows 11 pop-up dialog states device failure - instead of no media. Likely a Windows problem rather than the device. When you insert the memory card, everything works as expected. I am using large CF Express memory cards, the more files transferred, the warmer the card becomes. This is not unusual but I do have 2 other brands that do not get as warm even with larger transfers. I'd suggest ejecting the card as soon as the transfer is complete to prevent over heating. The replacement reader connected and worked in my 2022 HP Laptop even though its USB-C port is not the latest USB version as I had believed. The port will not support video but apparently supports 10 Gbps which the card reader uses. I believe my Desktop problems are internal to the desktop internal hardware, NOT the reader. The desktop machine will not connect or acknowledge the reader is attached. Its USB-A and USB-C ports are labeled SS (SuperSpeed) but no speed designation (5, 10, 20) The USB-A ports are Blue (5 Gbps) and Black which could be anything - likely 5 Gbps. That speed is BELOW the required min. spec for the Lention Card reader. Vendor Customer Support and follow up is quick, friendly and they are truly concerned about their users. They are one of the best I have dealt with. I thank them for resolving my original issues. ######### Original Review below: Does not work with my 2022 Windows desktop - never even connects - same with my Surface Pro 8. Windows 2022 laptop - sometimes connects, Never Ejects, often when connected with memory card inserted says disk is empty but is has images. Save your money

"LENTION USB C to SD/Micro SD Card Reader, Type C SD 3.0" Does what I expected. I use it every day. Take the SD out of the camera...put it in this device...plug this into the laptop...download photos...eject in Windows...remove this device...remove the SD...repeat tomorrow. It works every time.

This adaptor does not work as advertised. In fact, it did not work at all - zero stars!!!!!! I was on a trip, so missed the "return window". I am very disappointed by this convertor. It was extremely slow to even transfer just a couple of images, and then stalled forever. I followed all the troubleshooting steps from the mfg to no avail. I had to purchase a new adaptor - the Apple genuine adaptor works like a charm. Now I know why it is a little bit more expensive, but at least it works as it should!
