I use this regularly and it works great after a year and a half. The USB connecting wire is short but thick and sturdy. It holds up well. Sometimes the cards need to be inserted over again because they didn't read the first time. I usually blow a little air in (I use a little old school camera dust cleaner with the air pouch you squeeze so the air shoots through a small tube) just to make sure the contacts aren't dusty. I recommend storing the reader when not in use to avoid that but I sometimes get lazy and dont bother. There are two slots, one for standard sd and one for micro sd cards. I never used both at the same time so I can't say if that's possible or not. The transfer speed is pretty good if the cards are in properly and their contacts are clean. I think the time is between 13. And 17. mb per second. I dont know how that rates against others but that's the best I have personally encountered. I've experienced other card readers whose circuitry gets fouled up fairly quickly and becomes worthless but that hasn't happened yet after a year and a half. I am super careful with all card readers so not to drop them just in case of that internal damage. I don't know how delicate this one is but I assume all card readers are delicate. I once had one last less than a week once. This reader is going strong after 18 months. I suspect it will last as long as I need it.

I bought this to read my trail cam cards. I have several versions and the readers I had would read one but not the other. This didn't recognize the cards at first but after rebooting it has worked perfect ever since. There was also a glitch in the other readers where I could view the pictures and video but could not delete them. The error kept saying the card was corrupt but this reader handles it fine so it was not the cards. I recommend this reader with one revision. It needs a longer cord. This has to be left dangling down from the USB. Not good. It would have received 5 stars if not for this one flaw.

I have a 2021 Tesla Model 3 with a USP port in the glovebox for the sentry mode/dash cam feature. It came with a 128GB USB thumb drive, which I believe is a Samsung. Nothing special, except it keeps disconnecting every few days. I read that many microUSB cards with a card reader are designed for more extreme use, such as temperature extremes, higher rewrites, etc, so I bought one, SanDisk 128GB MAX Endurance microSDXC Card. While looking at readers, I decided to try one that would read two cards, and put music on the other one. This one advertised that it could use both simultaneously, and it does. Also, having a cable is a good safety measure, I think, because if it overheats somehow, it won't be likely to destroy the Tesla port, which is much harder to replace than the cards. So far, it's working well, but I haven't really had a chance to try playing music for very long while the camera is also working; I'm not even sure if it would be writing much to the camera drive while driving or sitting in the car anyway. Unrelated to this, I'll add that the Tesla plays USB music OK, but it's fairly basic. No album covers displayed, just a list of artists, albums, songs, or genres. So, you might want to make sure the ID3 tags are in good shape - I've been using MusicBrainz Picard to clean up the tags, which works quite well once you get the hang of it.

Got this today - first time using a card reader and an SD card. Instructions don't come with these but it is easy to figure out if you have some basic computer knowledge. If not, you can find help online easily enough. Driver automatically downloaded once plugged in to the PC and I went from there. It worked seamlessly and so easy transferring photos off my Nokia Lumia 1520 phone to my computer. My phone takes a MicroSD card and I like that this adapter can accomodate both a regular and Micro SD card. Worked great for the price - can't understand why anyone would pay more for a card reader - especially one that can only read one or the other. I did read reviews on this prior to purchase and noticed some people saying the Micro SD slot is a bit tight. I didn't want to take a chance using the first time and break my Micro SD card so I did get a card adapter that I could put the Micro SD into and then slid it into the regular SD card slot. Now that my important photos are off my phone and into the computer, I'll try the Micro SD slot in this later and see if mine is tight fitting as well.

Works as advertised and recognized immediately by Windows 10 with no configuration or driver installs necessary. Read both a older class SD card and a newer class 10 micro-SD without problem. At about the same prices as a USB 2.0 reader, it doesn't make sense to buy anything but a USB 3.0 reader, since it is backwards compatible for older computers you might use. I haven't done much writing, but it seems to read files more than ten times faster than my USB 2.0 reader. Files come up on the screen immediately and pictures and video open lightning fast compared with my USB 2.0. Though I haven't tried making copies yet, it does read two disks at a time so if you wanted to clone/copy/backup a micro-SD or migrate to a larger size it's just a one step process as long as you have a SD adapter for your second micro-SD. With the cable at about seven (7) inches, it works good for me with my case top front USB 3 ports, but if you need to connect to the rear you may need an extension cable or lower in the front it will have to dangle. Better than no cable, so it can be bumped without damaging your port or the reader, but something to consider.

I got this for a 2018 Tesla Model 3 to use 2 memory cards from one USB port. It works ok, but I did need to use a single card reader for the car to use the dashcam format feature. After the card was formatted and usable as a dashcam I changed it to this reader and it continued to work correctly. So this does not allow for formatting, but it does appear to work ok for daily dashcam use. It can read both cards at the same time without issue while I have a phone charger plugged into the other available USB port.
