  • Good adaptor
I am extremely pleased with this lens adaptor. Pretty good quality even with it the plastic bits on the outside. The locks work wonderfully and everything seem well secured. Fits my 6700 well and im using mostly for my canon EFS 55-250MM. Thankfully this is pretty good for the money since most other autofocus lens adaptors are around this price tag or more. The focus is pretty good with this adaptor the only trouble I have is because of my lens not being the strongest. ... show more

  • Not good for auto focus
This adapter works when it wants too. When paired with a sigma 30mm, It took over 20 seconds for an image to show up on the screen. Once the image appeared, the aperture was not showing on the screen and the auto focus was not working either. After turning the camera off and on the aperture was working but still no auto focus. Once the AF finally worked, after a few minutes it began hunting. I switched to another sigma, the 18-35 and the issues went in the same sequence and I couldn’t get the F to show stop lower that F4 although I could tell I was at F1.8 ... show more

  • Lens adapter.
This works perfectly! I had one previously but it didn't have an auto focus feature but it worked well enough. This one is much better. I do wish the whole thing was made of metal. There are some plastic moving parts so I would highly recommend moving slow and with caution when taking this off your camera or attaching your lens. It creates a strong connection and I have been able to use old canon lenses on my new sony camera. Its lightweight so it doesn't feel like its weighing down your camera. Its lightweight and small enough that it doesn't make your camera bag heavy or take up too much space if you don't want it to live on your camera. Its affordable and well made. Its extremely easy to use and it only takes seconds to put on. ... show more

  • It "works" with many lenses, but autofocus is really hit-and-miss
I'll quickly cover the physical attributes, then move into compatibility and performance. The adapter feels solidly built, with a metal ring on the outside, which I believe is aluminum, and stainless steel mounting rings on the inside, just like you expect on any proper lens. Manufacturing tolerances seem pretty accurate, though it was a stiff twist to get the adapter on or off my camera. Caps are included for both sides of the adapter to keep dust out. I haven't come to a conclusion if this should have come with a case, but there isn't one, if that matters to you. The lens release switch for the EF release is plastic, and doesn't feel as sturdy as the rest of the adapter, but it should be fine as long as it's not struck by something hard enough to crack it. Turning to compatibility and performance. For reference, I tested this on a Sony A7iii with about a dozen different EF mount lenses. I had made notes about each lens, but unfortunately the notes were lost, so I don't have specifics about which lenses had issues. All of the lenses did at least function on the adapter in the sense that they could be attached, and if they were electronic, they transferred lens info to be included in the EXIF data. Most of the lenses I tested had varying levels of difficulty with autofocus on this adapter. About half of the lenses tested were either unable to autofocus at all, or they attempted it and repeatedly failed to find focus. For those where autofocus worked, it was slower and less reliable than first-party lenses. In total fairness, this is very common for adapters, so I'm not surprised, it's just something you have to expect because most lenses won't perform as well through an adapter as they will when they're native to a camera. As a result, adapted lenses probably won't do well when you need fast and reliable autofocus, like shooting sports or events; but they're great for shooting slower or stationary things, like product photography, landscapes, and possibly portraits. Firmware updates can be installed via a microUSB port, but this requires some big asterisks. First, there isn't a microUSB cable included in the box, so you'll need to source that for yourself. Second, and far more importantly, the company's website doesn't have ANY firmware updates (or any other downloads) available for any of its products, and the site looks and runs like something out of the early 2000s. It doesn't even have SSL certificates, so you have to connect over http rather than https. Really, the website doesn't instill any confidence that there will ever be a firmware updater. If the current list of compatible lenses doesn't fit your needs, I have strong doubts that it would ever change. Overall, if you need autofocus, especially fast AF, I would recommend looking elsewhere, or try to find the budget for a native lens and skip using an adapter altogether. However, if you're shooting with fully manual lenses or framing non-moving subjects (e.g. landscapes, product photography, etc), this lens adapter will get the job done and comes in at a pretty competitive price. ... show more

  • Solid EF-to-Sony Adapter with Reliable Video Autofocus
I’ve been using this adapter with my Sony E-mount camera and Canon EF lenses, and it has performed very well so far. Autofocus works reliably in video mode, with fast and accurate focusing thanks to the dual PDAF/CDAF support. The full metal construction feels sturdy and well-made, and the weather-resistant design is a nice bonus for shooting outdoors. The detachable tripod base helps with balance when using heavier lenses. Overall, this is a dependable adapter that makes it easy to use EF glass on Sony cameras without sacrificing functionality. ... show more
