  • If you're looking to save money and win, this is the one for you.
Size: 1 GB RAM | 16 GB SSD Style: 8"
Despite mentions that this tablet is slow, glitchy, et cetera, I have found none of those problems with my own. As the CNET review mentions, there is a slight hiccup if I am downloading something at the same time I am trying to perform other tasks, but this was as an app was completing its download, and happens to me on other devices. One second of a hiccup that results in having to re-type a word is not enough for me to classify a device as "slow" or "laggy." The kickstand is phenomenal; I can sit it in any number of directions. I find that propping it up so that it is slightly angular and rests like a keyboard affords me an impressive ability to type (I used Microsoft Word to do this). The screen is beautiful. Streaming Netflix and YouTube are fluid and the sound is outstanding for this tablet. You can go into Dolby Atmos and alter your settings to favor music, movies, or customize it to your liking. I haven't tried it yet, but I haven't found the need to because I liked the basic setting. The color this camera affords is exquisite. It captures light even in the dark and reflects it back accurately, and it has an impressive little editing app built into it. Additionally, the rotation of the camera is very fluid and very cool. While video chatting, I was able to show my mother the entire room I was sitting in without getting up. This tablet is fast and easy to handle. Apps such as MS Word work beautifully; I was able to type fluidly and found myself never wanting to dig out my laptop again. I've attached pictures of when I first received it (the orange background), post-customization, and two different poses with MS PowerPoint and MS Word active to show their functionality. I don't know about games by Telltale and other high processor apps, but at least one game I played (Sims FreePlay, one I always try on a new device to check functionality) ran quite fluidly. The battery lasts a long time. I charged it yesterday and it is still full, after running YouTube, Kindle App, Sims FreePlay, and general Internet browsing throughout the day. Overall, this tablet is beautiful to look at, comfortable to hold, and convenient to use. I willingly acknowledge that some have issues with their devices which cause the product to be useless and/or frustrating, but I purchased mine new to be safe and to ensure I had no difficulties with user protection or prior damage and for what it costs, it is more than worth the price. ... show more

  • I freaking LOVE this tablet!!!!
Size: 1 GB RAM | 16 GB SSD Style: 8"
I am disabled and home a lot, so over the past several years, I have gone through many tablets as I use them mostly for reading, light gaming, web-surfing, etc. I have gone thru 4-5 Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, 3Lite & 4's. Have also had 2 RCA Voyager II's & an Asus MeMo Pad. After I recently lost my last Samsung Galaxy tab 4, then a few days later, broke the male end of the old style RCA type charger off inside my RCA Voyager, I decided it was time for a change. Because of being disabled, I don't work and as a result, I am on a fixed income. I've spent a small fortune on Samaungs over the years because Samsung cannot make a decent charging port whose pins don't get bent with repeated use. The RCA's are just cheap (you get what you pay for). I needed something substantial whose price wasn't going to break the bank. After some research, I discovered the Lenovo (a devision of IBM) Yoga Tab 3 in 8". I've always had a 7" tablet. My MeMo was 10.1", but I returned it because it was too bulky & heavy. I really wanted an 8" or 9" screen. At just under $119, this tablet is an awesome value for the money. The screen is beautiful...It's every bit as vivid as my Samsungs and just blows the RCA's out of the water. I was concerned about the 1GB RAM vs Samsung's 1.5 GB, but I honestly can't tell the difference. I think the Lenovo might be a little bit faster. I know it beats the RCA hands down. I have never been happy with the GalaxyTab's camera. Never used the RCA's camera. It only has a front facing pile of junk. I LOVE the rotating camera on the Yoga Tab. It takes fantastic pictures. I was worried about the one side being thicker because I have weak hands from a nerve disease & my other tablets slip thru my fingers. Honestly, I think it makes the tablet easier to hold on to. I really only have one complaint about the Yoga Tab & that is finding a nice case was difficult. Because of my weak hands, I'd really like an Otterbox Defender case (is what I've had on all my other tablets & phones) but Otterbox doesn't offer a case for this tablet 🙁. Frankly, at over a pound in weight, which is heavy, but not in a bad way, I think the Yoga Tab is fairly substantial & solidly constructed. I did get a MoKo case & screen protector, so I think I am good to go. All in all, I couldn't be happier with my YogaTab. If the charger holds up, I think it is going to wind up being a far better fit for me than my GalaxyTabs...Sorry, Samsung. Buy with confidence. This is a great little tablet for not a whole lot of money. I'm glad I found it & am looking forward to enjoying mine for a long time! 4/11/17: Update. After using the tablet for about 2 months, I do have one issue with it. The provided charging cable is maybe 18" in length. While the tablet has great battery life, being disabled and housebound, I read a lot. There are times I have to charge the tablet while reading, & the extremely short cable makes this next to impossible to do. I DID find an aftermarket charger for the tablet on Amazon. I bought 2. The first one, the plug bent the second time I used it, so I bought a replacement which lasted about a week. I had to downgrade my original review from 5 to 4 stars because being able to use the tablet while it's charging is extremely important to me. I can't blame the problems with the aftermarket chargers, but if the included charger had a longer cable, I would not have had to find another charger. Make a longer cable & you get your 5 stars back. ... show more

  • Yeah, it's a good 'un.
Size: 1 GB RAM | 16 GB SSD Style: 8"
I use this for reading e-books at night, web surfing, light writing tasks, and as a multi-use tool on my sailboat. I don't game or give much of a darn about the fancy features of other tablets. The battery life is truly spectacular, which is important to me as it serves as a third back-up in case my primary and secondary navigation system fails. The GPS is quite good. It's comfortable to hold, and the kick stand is a very handy feature. The screen is pleasantly readable. One can actually watch a movie and hear good sound without headphones. I don't expect a tablet to be a supercomputer, and this one fills most of my needs for a low investment, with typically stout Lenovo build quality. It's also small enough format I can stick it in a dry case and take it on deck without worries. I've owned about a bushel basket of 7" and 8" tablets and I have to say this one pleases me the most. With a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, it's entirely capable word processor as long as you keep a pair of "cheaters" on hand. ... show more

  • Great SD video tablet with kickstand, BUT painfully slow
Size: 2 GB RAM | 16 GB SSD Style: 10.1"
Good tablet for the price. Perfect for watching SD video. Not for HD video. Great battery life. I recommend getting the protective case with it as it automatically turns the screen on and off when you open and close the cover. Also, the cover works excellent for hanging the tablet over my steering wheel when I'm parked for a perfect view it also works on my visor. This is a great tablet for video and very light tasks, but not much else. Tablet is also incredibly slow when it comes to installing apps or updating ... show more
