  • One of the best low to mid range tablets on the market
Build : Lenovo built a wonderful little machine here. The spine of the tablet houses a pair of excellent Dolby speakers that broadcast rich, wonderful sound and a huge battery (relative to tablets) that serves to power Lenovos vision of using this as a multimedia device. The battery lasts greater than 6 hours under some moderately heavy use. The camera is fair enough as far as tablets go as well. It's built on a swivel that rotates 180 degrees for front facing and rear facing video or pictures. The back side of the tablet is made to feel like a soft leather and delivers a pleasant texture when holding it. Because of the large battery, the tablet is a bit weighty, but I like the heft. It feels durable and not like some other devices that feel like they're made of cheap plastic. The spine has a kick stand that flips out by a button press and allows the tablet to be oriented a few interesting ways, including hanging. As long as the stand is locked into one of the two positions the tablet is fairly stable. This little device is built for people who want a more convenient way to enjoy media and browse the web. It's not a gaming tablet and will struggle under heavy applications. But if you want something to take with you will me you ride the train, wait at the doctor's office, etc look no farther. The spine makes for a very comfortable and natural hand hold while viewing in portrait mode. The speakers are extremely good and very quite loud, meaning this a perfect media device for music or downloaded Netflix shows or YouTube clips. Apps like Kindle or libby make reading a real pleasure. I love it and you probably will too. I can't recommend it enough if you're looking for a more convenient way to consume digital media ... show more

  • Excellent, excellent tablet
So what's makes this this tablet special? Why should I buy this tablet? This is the tried itteration of Lenovo Yoga tablets I've owned. This tablet is awesome. It's only a little over a hundo, amazing battery life, wish it charged at a faster rate like my Samsung products. The 8" HD display is clear and crisp and just the right size, it's dual stereo speakers are forward facing, sound good and get nice and loud. It also has micro SD card slot, which tablets don't always have. One cam that rotates front to back. 2GB of ram, which is great for this price point. The kickstand is OK, it functions like they say it does and locks in position. I'd say the big edge battery/kickstand is handier (is that a word?) as a beefy grip by which to hold the device. I bought a beefy (bobj type) rubber case that encompases the edges and creates a buffer for the display when placed face down. Comined with a tempered glass screen protector, this is a kid-proof tank! Don't think, just buy it! if it's still available and I haven't gotten the last one. ... show more

  • Good value, best tablet battery life available, subpar performance.
It’s worth mentioning that I bought this item with my OWN MONEY and that I'm specifically reviewing the 8" version (2GB RAM). I'll add in a few details that come from user experience rather than restating what's in the product description, the hinge on this is sturdy and seems to hold the tablet very firm at any rotational angle, that was a huge question mark for me when I was looking at the images. The product description doesn’t say much about the processor, it uses Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 212, which gets a slight performance bump over its 210 predecessor but is still very weak in comparison to almost every sub 200$ tablet. The Snapdragon 212 uses 802.11n wireless and supports speeds of up to 150 MB upload and 50 MB download. If you’re planning on purchasing this device the primary factors should be the battery life and the built in hinge. If you prefer performance, other tablets get WAY better performance at similar price points, with the awesome battery life you sacrifice quite a bit in the performance department. For comparison, the Asus Zenpad 8 gets more than double the performance score on the "GEEKBENCH 3" benchmark, which evaluates overall system performance. On "3DMARK's ICE STORM" benchmark, which is strictly graphics, the zenpad scores over triple what the yoga does at only about 25$ more. Overall, this device is still a very good tablet with the unique hinge that you can't get built-in like this on any other tablet. The specs have it leaning heavily towards battery life > performance, if that's what you're looking for, then you won't be disappointed with this tablet. ... show more

  • Really like this size and features.
I think for the price this is a great tablet. Bought it to take pictures of computer screens and make steps for computer stuff (using squid which works just fine) but have found it useful for doing spreadsheet type stuff for inventory purposes (scrolling and moving around the screen with a bunch of text in cells works fine). Bought a Bluetooth bar code scanner and it works great with it along with all the Bluetooth folding keyboards I have (at the same time mind you). No problem watching videos on youtube and netflix and the sound is quite loud. Wouldn't recommend it for high end gaming but for the price I am not sure why anyone would think this tablet would be able to play those anyway. The screen may be smaller than most tablets but bigger than most phones and I like the portable nature of it. The auto on and off feature is nice for having it turn off before getting to work and then shutting off after you get home without having to do anything yourself. It auto turned on today and I was at work for 6 hours and never used it but it only lost 1% battery in that period of time. Would recommend this tablet if you do not mind a smaller screen and want to do basic stuff. ... show more

  • Adequate tablet
This is a well priced tablet with adequate capabilities. My iPad was lost so I bought this while I wait for the new version to come out. Picture while watching Netflix is adequate, the sound is nice and loud. The tablet is slow to load a lot of apps and Web pages with a lot of images. I really like the stand but it's very inconvenient to have the standby button on the edge of the stand, I'm constantly shutting the tablet off by mistake if I happen to be holding it. This won't run Pokemon Go, so I'm guessing there are other games it won't run. All in all I would say it's worth the money. ... show more
