I think I received a better T480 than I was expecting. I knew it was refurbished and did reach out to the seller for help with setting it up. They responded very quickly and straight to the point, nothing hard to understand. I'm not tech savvy and didn't know that it was touchscreen too. My son showed me. I'm happy with it. Don't know what it can do yet but I'm giving it to my kids to use for school. I can't comment on performance, I don't know what I'm doing, but every button works. Battery is charging fine. This laptop looks brand new. All the keys don't have the greasy shiny look from being used. The case and everything looks new, no scratches and marks, dents, nothing. For the price it’s hard to beat this setup. The dual batteries seem to last forever. Mine came with both batteries maintaining over 98% charge compared to new. The keyboard and body is mint. For what I’m using this laptop for, it’s perfect. My only negative comments are: - Screen resolution is just OK. - Can’t upgrade to Windows 11 ... show more

    • Doesn't look refurbished
I originally thought I had bought this for my mother who had mentioned she needed a laptop. She had gotten one in the meantime. As it turned out, I needed it as I am a consultant and I have so many VPNs on my normal computer, I wasn't able to connect to another client's vpn. Having this computer saved me and I was able to get into the new client's vpn without an issue. Now I am a real techie with 3 different computers and sometimes I have all three open.     • Very lightly used, good deal
I looked up the SN info for the laptop I received. It originally got bought with a 4 year Lenovo warranty which has recently expired. From reading out the hardware info, the SSD has about 1500h of runtime, with total RW of 7TB, all of it really light for a 4 year life. The battery states 90% capacity, still giving ~6h runtime when lightly used in power efficiency mode. In any case, for the T480 series, the battery is just a slide in, you can easily buy a replacement and replace the existing one, should it ever become necessary. The laptop has zero signs of physical use. Touchpads and keyboards are usually first parts of failure for these, but the laptop I received looks/feels untouched. So is the screen and case, not a single mark or scratch. The laptop most likely spent its entire life with a closed lid in a docking station, only seeing light use and now got decommissioned because of warranty end of life. I have been a Thinkpad user all my life and this is a decent deal, given that this will likely still be good for 3-4 years of heavy use. Some notes/warnings: * The laptop comes with Windows 10 Pro and is not capable of running Windows 11. So starting with 2025 you will be without security updates. You can totally continue to use it with Linux, however. * 1366 x 768 is obviously not the greatest screen resolution * No backlit keyboard But nothing in the description claims anything to the contrary so no stars deducted. I am not a big fan of tablets without keyboard, so basically I use this as a tablet replacement for web-browsing/videos when I don't want to carry bulkier 15' laptops around the house.     • Cream white screen and lagging execution program
Let's start and i was seeing cream color instead of white screen color. Try install drivers and adjusting color calibration but no luck. Lag of 2-3 seconds delay in execution of any command pressing the keyboard or mouse click. It arrived nicely packaged and looks brand new! Surprisingly lack of usb port only 2 in right side. Power port on left side and cord was too short. Battery wise is ok for 5 to 6 hours. But will be returning it for larger 15.6 ... show more

    • Microbeeglobal did NOT prepare this item to the claimed standard of EXCELLENT
Power cord velcro wrap is FULL of nasty hair & dirt. Power brick and the part that plug into in were dirty and scratched. Computer was NOT clean (the claimed rating of EXCELLENT is a LIE): crud in keyboard and around the frame of the screen. At this point, I can determine there is something wrong with the mouse pad - has a "lag" compared to the other T480s I've purchased since last Black Friday. Seems to be stuck in the very beginning of Setup. I will post more once/if I can get thru Setup. MORE: Tried for SIX hours to get this device to go thru Initial Setup. It repeatedly got stuck on endless spin. Got 'tech help' from Amazon - nothing worked. So, this device was allowed out of the seller's hands and it was NEVER in the condition claimed. ... show more
