  • This is THE BEST 10in tablet I've ever bought
This is THE BEST 10in tablet I've ever bought! Last year I bought another "big name" brand of tablet, (10 inch screen as well) it cost $200 before screen protectors cases etc, so around $250 in the end.. Within a week it was garbage, my son dropped it and it cracked through the screen protector, through the screen itself and down to the digitizer (the thing that controls the touch screen).. He's four my son, and literally just dropped it with a case and screen protector etc.. On to this tablet.. First I thought for $99 with a free charging dock/speaker YASSS! BUT, also I'm numb to trying to find a budget tablet that isn't flimsy garbage so I normally just assume if it's cheap it won't last.. And, being a Lenovo I gave it the benefit of a doubt.. It's set up is effortless 10 minutes or less. I've seen previous reviews on how "complicated" it is to set up which isn't the case, at least it wasn't an issue for me.. It has been dropped, and the screen protector has been cracked but the screen itself was fine..It's fast! Much faster then any tablet I've had in recent years. It comes with 16gb of storage but I bought a 128gb SD card so downloading and saving isn't a problem.. The biggest issue I have and honestly the only issue I have is that it doesn't connect effortlessly to the dock. There's seemingly a lot of connecting and reconnecting which is annoying when watching a movie or listening to music but it doesn't happen all the time, so it's definitely a workable problem.. All together I'd say this is a nice, budget friendly tablet (with extras!).. AND, I'm not big on reviews unless it's really good or really bad.. ... show more

  • Best possible purchase for price and performance
Purchased the M10 to replace my old Slate7 and could not be more impressed. It isn't the fastest to boot up, but once everything loads it is ready to roll. Web pages and apps load quick. The screen produces clear and crisp images and videos. The GPS on this works great with the Gaia maps app. I also like that it is easy to setup multiple accounts. Kids mode seems proprietary and not very useful. I tried setting up a kid's account for my 3 year old who got bored first thing. Maybe I just missed it, but it would be nice to have the ability to control what apps are used on kids accounts and still have normal tablet functionality. I don't use the speaker because Alexa is required for its use. Even still, I purchased this because it was a better deal for the tablet. The speaker was just a (useless in my case) bonus. It does serve as a nice charging station though, so I guess it isn't totally useless. I would absolutely buy this tablet again! ... show more

  • Took a chance despite the reviews. Looks good so far...
Size: 4GB/64GB Style: P10 Pattern Name: Tablet
A lot of reviews said the tablet was buggy and the whole package was difficult to setup. But for the price I saw it at, I thought I'd give it a try. I wasn't that interested in the dock and Alexa functionality. I just wanted the tablet. I will setup the dock and see how convoluted the process is. Got it today and asked the kid to charge it while I was at work so I could set it up when I got home. There was an update right away so I grabbed that. I also set this up from a backed up setup on Google to one of my other tablets. Easy. I was a little surprised to see a glass backside to this. It looks good but I'm sure it's a fingerprint magnet. The screen looks good. Bright and it looks sharp. It would be nicer to have thinner bezels but if that's for better speakers, I'll live with it. About those speakers. There are 4 of them and I streamed a couple of movies to test them out. They're still small tablet speakers but I thought the sound was pretty good for a tablet. They face a little forward as the edge has a curve to it which allows the speakers to face a little forward. I'm messing with facial recognition unlock. I've never been overly impressed with this on any device yet. We'll see how that works. Other than that, there is the standard pin, pattern or fingerprint unlock options. I'm a fingerprint and pin guy. It charges via USB c and it seems to charge fairly quickly. Next to the USB c port is a headphone jack... Yay.. In landscape mode, they would be on the right side and the volume control and power button would be on the left side. I'll continue testing and update this in a few days or so. Early feel tells me that this is a pretty good tablet. We'll see how right I am. In terms of android tablets, I think this is number 8 that I own and probably number 16 in the family. I've seen good and bad. Just bought my son a Samsung galaxy tab a and he's loving it. This one feels similar and in some ways, it feels a bit smoother but this is early yet. Back in a bit. Update: I've had the tablet for about 2 weeks now. I can definitely agree with some statements about the lagginess of this tablet. It's smooth enough but there are times when you don't think it should get buggy and laggy but it does. It doesn't happen a lot but enough to notice. I just connected a Bluetooth keyboard to this to try and type this addition to my review. The connection happened without a problem but wow...when I tried to type, there was probably a 2 second delay in the keys being registered on screen. I switched to my other tablet and there is barely a delay. So I'd say based on that, bluetooth isn't really up to snuff on this tablet. Which probably adds merit to those who say there are connectivity issues with the Alexa base. If I could give this 3.5 stars I think I would...maybe 3.7 or so...I'll leave it at 4 stars. As a tablet, it's pretty good. But I have a 4 year old Pixel C and a Huawei Mediapad M5 along with Samsung Galaxy Tab A to compare this to. The Huawei is the smoothest running of the bunch but that's a smaller 8.4 inch screen. The Pixel C, even though it's 4 years old and running on 3 GB of ram, still runs about as smooth as this tablet. But that's a heavier 4:3 ratio screen and I wanted a 10 inch widescreen. I finally got a case for this tablet and holding it is so much better now. I did not like that glass back finish. It looked nice but it's not that functional when it comes to holding the tablet. It feels so much better with the case. It doesn't feel like it's going to slip right out of my hands. But because of this case I probably won't be touching that Alexa base for a while. I snapped the case in place and then realized I didn't try to connect to the base. But I don't feel like snapping it off just to use the base that I probably won't use. My house is already equipped with all sorts of Echo devices. I have been somewhat disappointed in Lenovo products in the past few years. I had a gaming laptop that I didnt' think ran as it should have for the specs it had. That was about 5 years ago that I got that. Then I have a Lenovo Miix laptop. I've been using that for about 2 years now and it runs OK but before I reset it to factory, it was super sluggish and always hanging up in the middle of something. I had a Lenovo android tablet about 5 years ago. Again, just not impressed with the overall function. The build quality of all these items seem to be there but the software didn't seem to run the way you thought it might with the internal specs the way they were. This is a general Lenovo statement across the devices I've owned. Update: facial recognition sucks and so does the fingerprint unlock. Very mixed results and a lot of failed attempts to unlock via those methods. But I will say that the tablet seems to have settled and smoothed out. I'm still not impressed with the color on some screens but it's good enough. ... show more
