  • A great stylus that can be used on Lenovo Yogo 14 (20FY)
So I probably didn't buy this pen for the same reason others might, but it's a great pen for anyone. I bought the Lenovo Yoga 14 (20FY) from Best Buy last Black Friday weekend. One of it's main features was that it has an active stylus included with it that charges automatically in the silo that is in the side of the laptop. I've been wanting a laptop with an active stylus for artwork purposes so I picked the only one in the store that had that feature. I got home and the pen didn't work but I plugged it back in and later on it worked. I ended up forgetting I had a pen for a few weeks, just long enough that my return period was over. So a month into owning the laptop I realized my stylus would not charge most of the time. Great, now I don't get to return it, I have to deal with warranty support which is never fun. Anyway, instead of worrying about all of that, I decided I don't care about being able to charge the pen, as long as it works. So I came on here and saw a review for this stylus that said they used it with my specific laptop. I bought this pen and it saved me a huge pain of having to return my laptop to the manufacturer. I don't mind having to change batteries, they seem to last forever anyway. The pen works great and I actually like it a lot more than the one that came with the laptop. I didn't like the other one because it was so thin, but this one is about the size of an actual pen. And the buttons on the smaller one were so hard to find that I would have to pause my work to look for the button. This stylus' buttons aren't perfect, they are still flat, but they are much bigger so they are easier to find. The other reviewer that I bought this because of suggested to put a dab of hot glue on the button to make it feelable. I've used the stylus in several programs, mostly Photoshop and GIMP; they both worked great and the pressure sensitivity worked immediately. It comes with the battery and a little stand that you can plug into a USB port on the laptop to put the pen in when not in use. I don't use the stand because I don't want to risk damage to my ports if I bump into something, but I'm probably over paranoid. It's a great stylus and I'm very happy with it. ... show more

  • Works with ThinkPad Yoga 11e Gen 3!
I tried multiple cheaper styluses and none of them would work properly with my ThinkPad Yoga 11e Gen 3. This one worked perfectly out of the box and I was thrilled. My only complaint is that the buttons on pen aren't raised so if the pen twists in my hand, I usually have to stop and look at it in order to find the buttons and reposition my hand. That being said, if you have the ThinkPad Yoga 11e Gen 3 then this is the cheapest pen you'll be able to find and you won't regret it. ... show more

  • stops working after a few months
The first time I got this pen I was thrilled that it worked great right away. Two months later I thought the batteries died so I replaced them and the pen still did not work. ( yes they were in the right way ) I called Lenovo and they told me because I went through amazon they wouldn't be able to cover my pen. So I ordered again from the same seller. Now on my second pen less than 2 months old and it is no longer working this time problems with the buttons. I now know better and only order directly through Lenovo so when something goes wrong they can actually help me. Not sure if this is a problem with the seller or the Lenovo product itself but its been a very frustrating experience and I have lost weeks of work due to this reoccurring problem. ... show more

  • High quality - but discontinued and no replacement nibs. Replaced with Wacom Bamboo Ink Smart Stylus.
Update: When the tip fell out of this, I discovered that it was impossible to find any replacement nibs. Very frustrating, and Lenovo provides no direction of any kind on what tech this uses (I discovered the Yoga 11e 3rd gen uses Wacom AES) and what product replaces it. So, I decided to take a chance and instead purchased a Wacom Bamboo Ink Smart Stylus. I much prefer the Bamboo to this discontinued Lenovo stylus. The Bamboo has a customizable top button that links by Bluetooth, ships with three replacement nibs, is more comfortable to hold (every so slightly grippy surface), places the nib depth to provide better visibility of the tip touching the surface of the screen, and generally just seems to work better. My on-screen handwriting is clearer. In addition, it switches between Wacom AES (found in my 3rd generation Yoga 11e) and N-Trig (which has been rebranded "Microsoft Pen Protocol" after the giant's acquisition of the company). Unlike the Lenovo 4X80H34887, it did not come with that nifty USB clip, so there's no way to attach it to the device. If you're looking for a stylus for the Yoga 11e, I would go with the Wacom instead. Original review: I have the 3rd generation Yoga 11e, model 20GA-000KUS, manufactured August 2016, and the pen works well with this notebook. This pen was shipped in a box labeled "Thinkpad Pen Pro" and was manufactured November 22, 2016--just a few days before I purchased it. It is a Wacom Pen, and the Wacom Software and Wacom driver are installed in the laptop as shipped from the manufacturer. The pen included a semi-flexible black rubber-and-hard-plastic holder that plugs into the USB port. I must confess that the thought of leaving it like this makes me nervous: what happens when the pen catches on something and tears the plastic holder out of the USB port? How will the USB port be damaged? Ah well. A storage tube in the case would have made the Yoga too thick. Perhaps they could have added a small slot in the case, though, to attach the pen holder that wouldn't jeopardize your USB port. Not sure what others' experiences are here with this. My Yoga did not include a paper stating that it was compatible with the pen. On Lenovo's website, last year's Yoga 11e models (2nd generation) were listed as compatible with the pen, but this years (20GA models) were not included on the compatibility list. I assume this is because that compatibility list was last edited before the new laptops were released, and no one ever went back to update the compatibility list. The device appears to be metal and is comfortable in the hand. Finish is matte black. It has a pen holder clip on the top; no eraser nib on the end. For the eraser, you need to click one of the two buttons on the shaft, and, after using this for a little while, I find it more useful than an eraser nib. ... show more

  • Plain and functional
The Lenovo Active Pen 2 I was using started playing up and finding the fault amongst the 3 batteries required to power it became a bit tedious. The Bluetooth function is, in my opinion, a totally redundant property and is more a source of irritation than assistance. So I decided to return to the Lenovo Active Pen without Bluetooth - no fuss. Good decision. Delivery from Amazon US to South Africa was quick and smooth, as can be expected. ... show more

  • Kid needed a stylus for school provided touchscreen computer
With the events that have been happening my children are on a hybrid schedule for school as I'm sure most are. The child I bought this stylus for was provided a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e. They are at a younger age where they are working on handwriting so trying to write with their finger on the screen of a laptop was not working out. This stylus has been a saving grace. It even comes with a holder that goes into the USB slot. This version of the laptop does not come with a stylus but there is a version that does and the OEM stylus is pricey compared to this one. This is a great alternative to the OEM stylus for this series of computers and I would recommend. 10/10 ... show more

  • Contradictory Specification Information of the Lenovo Website.
Unfortunately did not work on my Lenovo 20DM-000VUS. But apparently even though the specs for this Lenovo pen on the Lenovo website say that it will work with my model I have read that some of these models actually do not support touch pen even though it says they should. Screw Lenovo, this will be my last purchase from them. ... show more
