Love these knives. Holds an edge very well. I will call attention to the difference between the Gourmet vs the Classic. Notice the steel is integrated into the handle the classic versus this product (the Gourmet). That said a $100 for the 3 knives and sharpening rod is a no brainer. Love, love, love! I gave these to my dear husband for his birthday as I had tired of hearing him lament the absence of decent knives in our kitchen. Now that I use them as well, I must say: he was right. These are fabulous.

    • I’d give more stars if I could (I’ve never said that before)
I now know what it’s like to work with quality knives. For the last 15 years I’ve used a knife set that my chef cousin gifted me. I figured since he’s a chef, he knows quality. While they were decent knives, and did well getting resharpened, it seemed they might be lacking, so I finally began looking for replacements. After LOTS of research & reviews: websites, magazines, cooking shows, asking other chef friends… this brand’s name came up several times. I’m glad it did. So far these are fantastic! Good balance, grip, comfort, ease of handling. Wonderful sharpness. “Cuts through things like butter” is a statement I can now relate to. I get excited when I get to use these. I look for excuses to use them. They look great. I personally don’t care for countertop knife blocks or wall magnet strips, but if I did, I’d proudly display them. The price was right. This set was $99 for Black Friday, then jumped up to $189 after I hesitated. Just before Christmas, they dropped back down to $99, so I didn’t hesitate this time. Glad for it. Now that I’ve used them, $189 still isn’t ridiculous since I expect them to last so long. Perhaps they’ll even be passed down. The 3 knives in this set are very versatile & really all I need. I kept my old, cheap bread knife, but that’s all. These really do the job for everything else. The only thing now, is I’m saving up to buy the steak knife set. Then I feel any knife needs will be complete. No regrets. ... show more

I got these on sale for $99 and I feel like that is a decent price for them. Chefs knife is very nice and sharp. Paring knife is Ok but looks and feels cheap. Overall an OK value. I will probably upgrade to the classic set if it goes on sale.

    • Great Knifes for a new cook
Learned to prepare plant based whole food meals in my old age. Needed some good knives to cut and chop lots of vegetables these have worked great for over a year used every day. Still sharp using the included steel and a cutting board.

These knives are of very good quality, and I couldn’t be happier with them. They are so sharp that I keep them hidden to prevent anyone who isn’t a skilled cook from accidentally cutting their fingers off.
