The tricky part is changing from old wiring R, i+, i-, C to new 8 wire +2 wire for outdoor temp sensor system with this thermostat. The original installer had cut 4 of the 8 wires, run from inside unti to Home Thermostat. I had to reconnect those. My inside unit has two wiring bars. I had to dewire from R, i+, i-, C bar and then connect all 8 wires to the longer bar with W1, W2, G, Y2, Y1, C, R, O matching thermostat. The outside temp sensor has 2 wires run to inside unit, that was sharing 2 wires over to thermostat, so I lost those wires. The M30 Wifi connects to internet and can show outside temp from internet until I can run 2 new wires down to thermostat. Wifi also sets day & time. The air circulation fan works and you can adjust how much it runs per hour upt to 30 mins. I like the screen save mode, as it turns completely dark. That can be left on if you like the light at night. And there is a brighness setting which is nice. Picture shows original 4wires with old thermostat to new 8 wires conencted to new location on inside unit. The M30 letters match so its just a matter of keeping the wires color-to-numbers the same. ... show more

    • You have NO support from Lennox if you buy this product
My original Lennox thermostat stopped working. My HVAC guy contacted Lennox and they told him to buy this one. I did on Amazon. It took a few visits, but he got it to work. Even though it is a Lennox IQ wifi thermostat as the original one was, the wiring was different. Non communicating vs communicating. It worked fine for a few weeks, and failed on the 36th day after it was ordered. After saying sorry on multiple chats, Amazon agreed to take this back and refund my money. I strongly recommend AGAINST buying any Lennox product through Amazon. Lennox told me they do not sell to Amazon and they don't really know how Amazon gets their products and they definitely give NO manufacturer support to items with the Lennox name on them. I give two instead of one star because Arti, the third customer service person I chatted with agreed to a refund. Arti is just great. Will update after install. Overall looks like decent build quality. It is a bit smaller than I thought. . But mainly we wanted to preserve all of the functionality of our two stage variable speed furnace with aprilaire humidifier and this should be capable of controlling it all. Don’t call it universal if it is not. This thermostat does NOT work with a Lennox communicating system without significant rewriting and loss of system functionality. It is a nice unit, just not for certain systems.

If upgrading from a smart iComfort. Wiring will have to be downgraded. If later on down the road, you want the latest Lennox thermostat. You’ll have to rewrite so it can communicate with smart tech and two stage heating.

    • Really 3 out of 4 were bad?
We purchased 4 of these from this company and how can 3 of the 4 be bad? The return window is so short and we had to eat the cost plus buy new ones from someone else. We purchased for new construction and couldn’t install right away. No customer service and horrible products. Are they selling refurbished units? I’d purchase somewhere else. ... show more
