based on the size description i got a size down and bought a (S) because i enjoy more of a fitted look. i am 5'4" 150lbs. i wear this mostly with a suit or sometimes with a thick hoodie underneath when im not in a suit. it gives enough space for the suit, a bit snug with the hoodie but you can still button it up and it really doesnt show the added thickness. if you are heavier then you may want to go up in size. with the added hoodie underneath plus a scarf, it keeps me warm in 30 degree temps. no hoodie and you will feel the cold a bit. the coat itself is not thick but it is well made. the sleeves were long for me but i just rolled them inward slightly and that did the trick. you will need to press it once you get it because it arrived very wrinkled and the collar wouldnt stay down. but afterwards it was perfectly fine and never had an issue with wrinkles again. the only con i can think of is that there is no inside pocket. i normally like to have an inside pocket but overall i am very pleased and will be buying it in the camel color as well. hope this helps.

The recommendation to order a size larger was definitely appreciated and a guideline anyone looking to spurchase this coat should follow. My first impression when initially trying this coat on is that it lacks function. The pockets barely allow me to squeeze my hands inside, and I don't think I could use them at all if I was wearing gloves. The lack of a breast or inner lining pocket was something I missed as well. There are also a couple strips of cloth sewn onto the coat with buttons attached on both the cuffs of the sleeves and the small of the back. They are purely cosmetic, though I wish they actually did allow some sort of adjustment to the fit of the coat. It does not have that form fitting look that it appears to in the pictures. Instead the coat really just hangs loosely in the body and chest areas, even when closed. The shoulders fit almost perfectly on me, and the sleeves seem to be of good length. Based off of the pictures I would have thought the coat would go down to around mid-thigh level, but it goes just a little bit past waist level. I would say this is a good product for the price. It's a nice cheap coat, but don't expect much from it. Not sure how this is going to fare out in the cold, so I will update later. There are no care instructions so maybe check this page for some.

Do not listen to the other reviews saying that you need to buy one or two sizes larger than you think. I did that and ordered an XL originally that was basically a blanket on me. The medium fit me perfectly, despite me normally wearing at least a large in other articles. Now, with that covered. It is not going to be a super warm coat and it is not waterproof or resistant but looks great. Combine it with maybe a pair of long johns and it will be more than sufficient for the winters we have here in North Carolina. It is comfortable, seems well made and I am very happy with my purchase. The price made me skeptical cause it seemed way to reasonable, I am happy to say that my skepticism was unfounded.

By American standards, my husband would wear a size M (since this is a "slim fitting" jacket) or maybe even an L..... having read comments about ordering a size up, I bought him an XL. Now if you ask ME, it looked fine on him, but he said the size smaller would be perfect for him. So I returned the XL and ordered an L and it sure is PERFECT on him. So in this case, the "size difference" wasn't as big as I thought it would be. I'd say quite close to true size.... so if you're an L for example but at the upper end of that size, definitely go bigger. He is VERY happy with the material, the cut, shape, length and fit. It looks amazing on him, and for this price??? What a great deal!
