This is useful because the plug actually produces a vacuum seal. The plug is made of a soft material that molds to the shape of the drain on the toilet. It then has a small hole in the center from which the pump pressurizes the pipe. The package is completely in Chinese. Not a word in English, so follow the graphics or the images and video on the listing. Because the plug is somewhat like a cone, it fits in smaller drains like a sink or a tub as well. I'm not sure how durable this is going to be. The main part of the pump is metal but all the other connectors are plastic. The inner tube inside the plug is metal, so it should be good for light household use. Overall, I'm happy to keep this. My old plunge did not do a good job and ended up having to use a toilet auger, which is not pleasant to clean after. ... show more

This product create a good seal inside of a toilet. The pump should create a vacuum to clear the clog. I don't know how effective this product will be on an actual clog because the pump is not much more powerful than a bicycle hand pump. Overall this is a good idea to replace the traditional plunger. ... show more

    • No Clog at the Moment
I don't have a clog at the moment, but the thing does seal inside the toilet drain and air does get injected, so I can see how it will work as well if not better than an old style plunger, without the splashing of the old style plunger.
