I needed a mattress pad in a pinch after going to three stores locally and couldn’t find anything. This fit the bill. Please note it is not a mattress topper. It is a mattress pad but there is a nice fluffy loft. It appears well made, including the fabric, stitching and elastic fitted part. It fits great on the mattress. I washed it before I put it on the bed - because it is bedding. I had no issues washing and drying it. It did wash it on gentle but spun it out on highest setting. I didn’t notice any shrinking and came out soft and the loft remained. Great product for the price point.

Let me preface this review by saying that I spent a few nights with the mattress topper before writing my review, so that my review could be accurate. After moving across the country, one of the biggest (and most unexpected) adjustments was to our new mattress. It was too firm for my liking, and I could feel the pressure on my hips & shoulders. Thus, I turned to Amazon for a quick fix! When I received the product, it was packed snuggly in a vacuum seal bag. I let it “puff up” for about 24 hours, then manually fluffed it. The mattress topper was a breeze to put on my mattress. I was able to do it myself in about 5 minutes. It fits our queen size perfectly. I was pleased to see that the elastic bands around the side have very generous pockets. My husband tosses in his sleep, which often times pulls the fitted sheet off. Not with the mattress topper though! I will say, however, be sure that your fitted sheets can accommodate the extra height added by the topper. The mattress topper has made our bed more comfortable & I feel that my slumbers have been better since purchasing it. It may not be plush enough if you have an extra firm mattress, but it adds just enough “fluff” to make our memory foam mattress feel like a cloud. My only comment regarding the mattress topper is its claim to have a cooling effect. While I wouldn’t say that it is cooling, I don’t think it makes me sleep any warmer than our gel top mattress. My husband sleeps like a furnace, but he hasn’t said that the topper makes him any warmer. Since we live in toasty California, we use a single fuzzy blanket on our bed & it keeps us cozy all night! I have yet to wash & dry the mattress topper, but it feels sturdy so I have no worries that it will be fine! To summarize, if you are searching for an affordable mattress topper to add a little “plush” to your mattress, I recommend this one! However, if you are specifically searching for a topper with a cooling effect, I may search elsewhere. Overall, this topper fit my needs & I love curling up on it each night. When I unboxed it (11-21-24) and fluffed it on low heat in the dryer for 20 minutes, I put it on my bed (Queen). I was kinda disappointed that it wasn't a little firmer and fuller than it was. But it is very soft and cool to the touch. I also ordered a memory foam topper hoping that will help meet my expectations and give me a better nights sleep.

I read the negative reviews here before I bought this item, but I'm glad I bought it in spite of the bad reviews. I think the problem the negative reviewers are having is that they are confusing a mattress pad from a mattress topper (*I note that as of this writing, even Wikipedia doesn't understand the distinction between them either). As I understand it, a mattress PAD is kind of like underwear for your bed. If the sheets are clothing, and the comforter is a coat, then the mattress pad is your "drawers" - the last line of defense between the outside world and your private parts (or in this case, your mattress). The mattress pad will protect the mattress from damage and can be removed and washed, usually with less frequency than the bed sheets. (As an aside, in the case of actual underwear, I do recommend changing that every day). Mattress pads fit on the bed exactly like a fitted sheet and are generally not intended to add cushioning to the bed. In contrast, a mattress TOPPER is an extra layer of cushioning that you add to your mattress. Usually it is made of foam and has a specified thickness of a few inches. The mattress topper is not typically washable. Mattress pads and mattress toppers can be used together, where the topper lies over the mattress, and the mattress pad fits over the topper like a fitted sheet. If you are looking for a great pair of "underwear" (aka mattress pad) for your bed that, as a bonus, happens to offer much more cushiness than the typical mattress pad, then this is a perfect choice at a great price. If instead you are looking for additional cushioning to make your mattress thicker and cushier, don't buy this. You'll just be disappointed and then you'll give this wonderful mattress pad a very undeserved bad review. Get a foam mattress topper instead. I love this mattress pad. I was really surprised by how much cushiness it added to my already very cushy memory foam bed. It looks and feels great. I haven't washed it, yet, but I suspect that it will hold up well in the wash.
