While I will incorporate this lens into my street shooting activities, I wanted it mainly for shooting formal portraiture. I find it is a bit heavier than expected so my plans for using it on daily shooting expeditions will have to be tempered. I was a bit disappointed that this lens does not have a finger guide on the focus ring, a trademark of sorts for shorter Leica lenses. However, the quality of the images it makes is superb. The focus range is covered in a smooth, half turn of the focus ring and the bokeh is most pleasing at wide open f-stop. Built-in lens hood w/locking feature is a plus.     • Flawless Lens!
I once had this lens, sold it and regretted it almost immediately. Now I have this lens once more and I'll keep it forever (well, almost forever). Terrific image quality regardless of what M camera you use. And it works very well with almost any mirrorless camera… Leica SL and Sony A7R.

    • Outstanding short telephoto
I place a premium on lens quality and compactness, which are consistent with most Leica lenses. This lens is no exception. The performance is outstanding wide open, which is most obvious when you look at portraits on screen and zoom in 1:1 on the subject's eyes. Stopped down is slightly better than outstanding. It is nice and compact for street shooting (when I need to stand off a bit from the subject) and works extremely well on my M 240. ... show more
