  • Amazing set!
This was a wonderful gift for my 5 year old son. the only thing bad about it was the amount if time it took to build. I would say to set at least 2 solid hours aside. I spent my free time on christmas day until about 7pm building this (with constant interruptions to build other toys at the same time). ever since it has been put together though it has been played with everyday for hours at a time. This set has so much to do and such a variety of characters. I have always loved Lego and it make me happy to see that happiness is being passed down to my child. Pros: Variety of characters Lots of activities Numerous variations/combinations Interactive movable parts Cons: Time to put together Weight once put together All in all this is an amazing Lego set and is well worth the price. ... show more

  • Pricey but massive and cool 😎
I was a Lego master as a child and still have a huge Lego collection as an adult that I keep simply for the nostalgia. My son who is nine years old now got this for his birthday and it hit both marks for being Minecraft and Lego! This thing is actually pretty freaking big. Theres quite a bit of content and moving parts. I wish I hadn’t spent $270 altogether on shipping and price for product but at the end of the day it’s what my child wanted. He’s a great kid, compassionate, does good in school, minds the wife and I, and so he gets what he deserves. ... show more

  • BEST set EVER!! But... RETIRED now.
Wow. Wow!! What a great Lego set! Santa brought this to my (almost) 10 year old son for Christmas and after hours of works (yay!!) it is impressively complete! Super cool and you can connect it to other sets!! He loved every moment of it! Update: Still a seriously GREAT Lego set - three years later! STILL sitting in the middle of our dining room table! LOL!! Please note though... it is RETIRED and if you find it, the price will be GREATLY, and I mean GREATLY inflated!!!! I purchased it for $250.00 in 2017. Best set ever from LEGO. ... show more

  • SO WORTH IT!
LOVED IT! I am 10 and bought it with my own money. It took me a weekend to build but SO WORTH IT! I make stop motion videos with my legos and this one was really cool. When I bought this it was $250 prices change every time I look at it though. I messed up while building it and tried to fix it but I couldn't. So, I just left it and Nobody cared so don't worry if you mess up too. One of the best things is that its very easy to pick up and it shows how in the back of the instructions. There are 24 bags 2863 Pcs. So, if your younger than 12 don't worry just take it step by step. I LOVE Minecraft and this was my favorite purchase yet. ... show more

  • Great Family Time!
The LEGO Minecraft "The Mountain Cave" was great birthday present for my son. It shipped on time, got to my door in a timely manner and the box was intact with all pieces to be packaged and accounted for. It was a great build with lots of quality time with the family, yes family! Even my wife helped out alot with this set. She says it was very calming for her. My son is a huge fan and this addition was the world to him. over 2000 pieces my sound alot but the time spent with the family was worth it. Once it was completed the feeling of pride and accomplishment was a great reward. I highly recommend this set if you have not already purchased it yet. ... show more

  • which has kept him happy & busy for hours
Huge hit with my 8 year old son. I was concerned about the suggested age on the box being 12+, but this was not problem for him. Just time consuming with all that pieces...which has kept him happy & busy for hours. He has worked on other minecraft lego sets, so he is familiar with the structures and this probably makes it easier for him to build a larger set like this. An overall 2 thumbs up from this mom. ... show more

  • It will take a while to build, it is worth every penny.
I had to set up a table to display this because it took us a while to set up. We only worked on it for an hour or so every day for a week. Very tempted to "Krackle" it because my daughter's friends came over & took it apart last month. This is not something for a little kid. The instructions are easy to skip a page specially when mom is sleep deprived. Overall Id buy it again it was fun to work on as a family. Eventually Id like to have a whole Lego Minecraft world set up in a spare room. ... show more

  • It's definitely impressive
I feel like when my (extremely impressed and excited) kid opened the box to this thing the 2001 theme song should have played and light should have shone down from the heavens. The box was ridiculously huge! There were so many bags of legos! It was amazing. But good grief... the price! I feel sure that The Powers That Be at Lego Evil Doctor Scientist Headquarters, Inc are cackling gleefully and lighting cigars with 100 dollar bills on a yacht somewhere. (A yacht made out of legos, naturally). And yes, we have bought many many MANY lego sets in our tenure as parents and are aware of the cost - so for us to say "Wow, this one was expensive!", that's saying something. It is a really cool set, but it also was a tiny bit anticlimactic as our kid put it together pretty quickly, considering. Plus the finished product somehow became only the size of a lap dog. I had to give it a double-take like "Wait where did the rest of it go because that box it came in had its own zip code?" Having said all of that, it is a very impressive set as far as moving parts and lights and just the sheer amount of STUFF on this behemoth. Definitely very cool, plus it was fun to place this huge wrapped gift down in front of our kid like "BOOM!" ... show more
