I highly recommend playing the free demo on PS Network. This is how I came to like the game and the reason I decided to buy the hard copy. The game just looks cool. These are lego versions of all of your favorite superheroes, and the graphics look really clean. Let me be honest in saying that the PS4 has the worst selection for games as of right now (02/10/14), so I took a gamble on this one and have been very pleasantly surprised. I am a 28 year old male and usually play Call of Duty Ghosts, along with some Battlefield 4, and also Need for Speed (And Fifa in person with friends). Of these, I find myself playing Lego Marvel the most right now. Two player Co-op is probably the most fun, and this game could be considered a "button masher", but it works like a slightly more advanced arcade game where you need to solve puzzles in order to advance. You are given a certain set of characters for each level, and in using those characters, you must figure out how to advance using each member's specific abilities (Spiderman will need to climb to things and use his web to reach higher areas, Iron Man will need to shoot things down/fly to higher areas/use his laser to meltdown gold objects, Hulk will need to move large objects, battle larger bosses etc.). Example: The first map starts you with Iron Man and The Hulk, so each of those characters has certain tasks that only one or the other can accomplish. In single player mode, you will need to switch between the two, but in multi-player, you and your partner will just need to work together. There is massive re-playability as I have logged about 20 hours and am at 12% completion. On top of that, once you beat a level, that level becomes an open-world map in which you can play with other super heroes that you previously unlocked. You get to go back and use specific characters on things that you weren't able to accomplish earlier (Example: Needing a strong character like Hulk on a specific map, but not having Hulk at the time you played the level earlier). This game is complicated enough and really does remind me of puzzle solving. You will need to put out fires, or find secret entrances, or fly to hidden ledges, or hack into computers and solve literal puzzles in order to advance. There have been about 2-3 times so far where I had to consult the internet because I overlooked something and got stuck. It was usually something simple but this game has its challenges. Most of the time you just fight goons and progress arcade-style, but as you progress and more characters are unlocked, it really is fun choosing from a seriously large character list. A lot of X-men characters, all of the Fantastic 4, Spiderman, Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America and tons more (The list is so big that the characters I haven't unlocked scan entire pages). This is offset by the villains too, who number in the 20's as well. You will battle guys like Magneto, but also lesser known guys like "Rhino" and other villains. This is just a simple, fun game, that you can play with a number of different people. Honestly, the best part, is that you really can't die, you just have to figure out the puzzle and advance. My girlfriend also played and she was worried that she couldn't keep up, but while I was able to maybe accomplish the harder tasks, she was able to come along and battle goons and accomplish enough on her own that it was enjoyable for both of us (Unlike Little Big Planet for example (PS3) where you really couldn't advance with a weaker player). At the same time, I can drink with my buddies and just game and not get that massive frustration that comes from being owned in a game like COD or Madden. Lego Marvel Super Heroes is a fun game that was obviously made by people with a clear love of the Marvel Universe. While they do make nods to the movie franchises (Nick Fury is the Samuel L. Variety) it still has lots of fun and clever references to older characters and themes in the Marvel Comics Universe. Having been hooked on Marvel Comics since being a child in the 80s, I am constantly finding my self smiling at some of the gags. The gameplay itself is fairly tight, rarely have I found myself cursing due to game errors or confusion. The graphics are very gorgeous, which I would expect on a PS4 for a relatively simple game. There seems like an unending amount of characters and races to participate. After having finished the 15 story levels, I was pretty pleased to see that my progress was rated at 15ish%. Obviously this game wants you to go out and explore the free play NYC level, and participate in all the many quests. Most are fetch and grab or escort, and fairly simple. It is obvious the puzzles and parts of the gameplay were definitely designed for an all ages crowd, so hard core Demons Souls guys will not feel challenged. Still, it's a fun time waster, and for those looking for a new PS4 game I can't recommend it enough. However, playing it comes at a premium on PS4, as the prior gen versions seem to have already dropped $20.     • LEGO does it again with Marvel Super Heroes!
Lego Marvel Super Heroes is a really fun game! If you're a fan of Lego Video Games, then, you're going to love this one. Another Lego game, another Franchise recreated in plastic bricks! In the Marvel iteration of the Lego Universe, the story is cool, quirky, and funny. There are over 100+ characters; so, chances are, you'll be able to play as your favorite Marvel Superhero. Gambit is in there, so, I'm very happy about this. Gameplay: At this game's core, it's a platformer with a lot of easy puzzles to solve. The controls are solid, and the animations are excellent. There is a ton of replay value in this game, because you can only solve some puzzles with certain characters. So, even though you complete the main story quest, you can go back and "clean-up" to unlock everything in the game. Graphics: As I mentioned before, the animations are done really well. The environments are beautiful. The cut-scenes are funny and very well done. You truly feel like you're playing with a Lego play set on your television. Sound: The sound is really well done. You have the signature sound of Lego brick building throughout the game, and it feels like you're actually playing with a Lego play set. If you're looking for a brand new Lego experience for Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, etc., this one is for you. Also, if you're looking for that special gift for a fan of Marvel Comics, or the Marvel Universe in general, I highly recommend it. Overall, I give this game 5 / 5 Stars. Enjoy! ... show more

    • This game is great for anyone of all ages!
Was looking for a fun CO-OP game to play with my wife since they don't really make those games anymore and picked this one up. We loved it! So much content, story is a fun play-through, open world, over 100 characters to play as and unlock all with unique powers and alternate costumes, pushes strongly multiple play-throughs and just an all out fun ride. We're playing it through again to get all the secrets and things we couldn't get the first time around. I think it took us over 10 hours or more to play through the story however, there is so many side quests and free mode that will fill your time as well. My only compliant and this is with most Lego games is the camera and some missions are unclear and buggy. We would find our self's wondering around sometimes looking for what to do next. I hints tab would be nice. One you could turn on or off if you want. Back to the camera, they put in this dynamic split screen mode that is just horrid. Words cant describe how annoying it gets and they only give you a vertical split screen second option that is pretty annoying itself. I wish they would add a horizontal split screen option. That would make a huge difference. That's the only reason I give it a 4 out of 5 instead of 5. Lego please fix these annoyances in your future games. ... show more

I bought this game for my nephew for Christmas because it was a two player game. His dad and him started to play while I watched and I liked what I saw so much that I went and bought it for myself! I have spent my entire weekend playing this as it is addictive! The characters on the street are funny and make snarky comments that make me laugh while I'm running around. I love the fact that this game lets you explore alot of areas and doesn't confine you to the area you need to go. It also lets you go repeat missions so you can go in and clean house with different characters than what the mission required. It has a feature where you can also customize your superheroes to have two of powers of whatever characters you want. HINT- before you start the game- go and fill the Lego questionnaire online and get a few cheat codes to unlock a few characters before you even start playing- courtesy of Lego. I also went online and was able to find cheat codes to unlock vehicles, disguises and festive hats. My characters were running around in Santa's hats and beard. I am now looking forward to more Lego games! ... show more

    • Get a lot of game for the price
I really enjoy these Lego games. The Marvel Lego game is probably the best one out there. With the abundance of characters and with all the mini games on top of the story line you can have hours of playtime. To get 100% takes a lot of time. It is enjoyable throughout. I was actually surprised how much inline this followed with the movies too. This game is great for all ages and a wonderful family game. I truly believe that any age that plays this game will enjoy it. I do have to say yes there are those frustrating parts where you might do a race and keep losing by a few seconds, so you have to do it over and over again. It can get irritating however this goes for all games. If you want to have some fun and play a game that overall is just easy this is a good one to distract the time. ... show more

    • Good Game for Parents to play with a child.
I Love this game. My son is 7 and has not had much exposure to video games, but he likes SuperHeroes and could play this game 24/7 if allowed. I'm 36 and I would definitely consider myself not a strong video game player. The game is simple to pick up on and if you can't quite figure it out, we just YouTube it and people do step by step tutorials. Sometimes it's hard to figure out exactly what to do so it's okay to cheat. It took me a little while to get used to what you're supposed to do, but once you figure it out it's super fun. We have a PS4 and the graphics are amazing. Shipping was great. I would definitely recommend this game, especially to a parent who wants a fun game to play with a child. I would say children 5 and older should be able to figure out how to play. ... show more

    • A solid game. One of the best LEGO titles by TT.
One of my favorite titles in the Lego series, mainly because of the massive hub of New York City. The levels were interesting but very long and not as engaging as all the quests and challenges in the main hub, in my opinion. My biggest complaint about the hub is the frustrating flying controls (TT seems to have improved upon that in Batman 3) which makes it very difficult to complete several of the challenges that require precision flying. One of the draws is the staggering amount of characters to unlock in this title. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is an excellent value at $20 or less: lots of play time, fun and humor sprinkled in to lighten things up in an already-light-hearted game. A great play on both PS3 and PS4. Warning - it's easy to get stuck playing as Iron Man exclusively... branch out to some other characters! ... show more
